    Great video Sam. These really are fun to drive whether they’re stock or mapped. I own a Performance Edition🍊 which has the same suspension and I agree with you, feels very planted and does feel firm but it all ties into the driving experience. A great example of an ST edition though looks amazing 👍🏼

      Thank you for the positive feedback Jamie! Many congrats on your performance edition as it is a great car and I do love how the colour stands out on both of the limited edition models to make it feel that extra bit special 👍

      @@SamAustin Thanks mate 👍🏼, congrats on your recent ST200 aswell, also a very special car with lots of character. I had a MK7 before this MK8 and I have to say with honesty there’s no beating the MK7 for the character, I found the MK7 a lot more fun due to its characteristics compared to the MK8 haha!

      Thanks Jamie! Yes I love the MK7 ST's also having owned two now and had my first 2013 ST-2 in spirit blue from new for around 4 years which I then sold for my Golf R. The ST200 has now also been sold, shared in a recent video, as I could not get on with the modifications in the end. The car overall was fantastic though! 👍

      @@SamAustin no worries Sam. Sorry I missed the video on the sale of the car, just watched a bit of it now and it is perfectly understandable considering you enjoyed another MK7 for 4 years and you’ve definitely got a great all-rounder in the Golf R 👍🏼

      Do the performance editions come right from the factory with the Quaife limited slip diff, or is it an extra cost option even on that package?
      Which brand coil overs do they give you in that PE package, and are they compression and rebound adjustable (separately), as well as ride height adjustable?

    Wow, it looks great. The colour is veery similar to the Focus RS although I can't make out if it has the gold flakes in the paint.
    I'm not sure I could cope with the power downgrade so I wont be looking to get one, but its a piece of car culture art for sure.
    You're so lucky to get the chance to try one! I suspect they will be stored in garages for most of their lives. 😭

    • @SamAustin
      @SamAustin  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is actually an Audi Blue colour speaking with the owner but renamed to something else. Very much looks like a baby RS with the nitrous blue colour but that is actually a metallic paint whereas this Fiesta ST Edition surprisingly is a solid paint colour but the black roof / door mirrors are metallic. Many congrats on your RS it is a special car also and I am yet to feature one on the channel here 🎉

      @OliB150 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think they make up for the loss of power with the reduced weight really. I haven’t driven my Mk2 RS for a while now but the 1.5 ST engine is surprisingly powerful!

    • @drivinglikeannpc1923
      @drivinglikeannpc1923 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SamAustin Thanks! I wish more people got to experience the RS. I was quietly hoping the emissions rules would force a Fiesta RS onto the market but I guess mine is the last truly fast Ford hatchback.
      I hope you get to feature one... I would offer mine but its had the life beaten out of it and will only upset people. 🤣

    • @drivinglikeannpc1923
      @drivinglikeannpc1923 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OliB150 Maybe I should test drive one of these things to get an idea, as I used to enjoy a previous generation of fiesta.
      Yeah, the weight of that AWD in the RS is significant, but it still shaves 2/3 seconds off a 0-60 and the cornering goes from enjoyable to outright unbelievable.
      If only it had the sound of a 2.5 mk2. That engine was music to my ears! However much you're driving it, you should be driving it more! 😉

    Main issue with these is 3 cylinder engine. 🥲

      Honestly from an outside perspective, when the MK8 ST’s first came out, I didn’t like the idea they were 3 cylinder to start off with either. Given with how awful the 1.0’s were with the wetbelt. But the engines in the ST’s all have a chain, where a big part of the 1.0’s problems was the wetbelt. I’ve had my MK8 ST for over 3 years now and the engine has been absolutely fine. However I am interested to see if anyone has one with quite a high mileage (over 100k) to see how it’s holding up
