I used to travel to Laos. The same route as the path you go with a motorcycle. All 7 days travel is very beautiful. I enjoy driving in Laos. And I left Lao in Nong Khai province.

Very hard to find brand new tyre in Laos, I heard only in Vientiane and they import them from Thailand… I made the silly mistake not to change them before starting the trip
Hmong from the USA here.. amazing how just about everyone you interacted with in the video are hmong. Even those who you're speaking lao/thai with are probably hmong aswell.
Gaby, bad roads are where the Africa Twin shines, but you need good tires that can handle trail riding also. We used to call them "Enduro", meaning they can ride street and trail if need be. Honda Enduro, Yamaha Enduro etc. Also, from now on when you travel, bring long johns and a "Smart Wool" T shirt. I hope the driver was not hurt bad. Not much in the way of an emergency room nearby. The children are precious. You ever hear the song "O Very Young"? How quick it goes.

Gabi with so much travel on your bike, you are not wearing the right clothes, you should be wearing leather jacket or some thick clothing to prevent you from getting chill. The present clothing that you are wearing is good if you are travelling by bus. Please consider and invest in good solid pants and strong jacket.

Many of the people you met are not Lao, they’re actually Hmong. But wonderful people nonetheless.
I've seen a lot of your videos and what I admire most besides the landscapes is your humility. The trait I most appreciate in a person. Excellent work and how I would like to travel just like you. A big hug from Portugal :)
Glad you notice the little difference in language with Lao and Thai. Most Lao and Thai we can’t speak the outer villages and small towns language because it’s Khmu or Hmong or other ethnicities. But they speak Lao/Thai.
Lao and Thai languages are different Gabi, yes, some words are similar-- like "Suh bai di". "Suh bai di bo" is a hello greeting in Lao. "Suh bai di mai" is "how are you" in Thai. Stop using Thai in Laos Gabi, you said "kap kuhn krapb" which is thank you in Thai to the Laotian man who fixed your bike, but they say "kop jai" to mean thank you in Laos as you know and you did use before in the video.
You should visit Rodrigues and Mauritius one day. I believe they are relaxing and quaint places.
