after like 8 years or whatever after watching some Harstem clips, I try'd to play some SC2 again, and I regained lots of respect for professional RTS gamers. I can't macro at all. Can't make proper groups and cycle through them and I get lost within the first 2 minutes of playing that I have no overview of what i'm supposed to do and fuck up everything because I try to do everything. My mind just can't keep up. Suddenly I have 2k money to spend but no idea where to spend it on and then I get attacked while thinking what I should do and focus on the fight > forget what I need to do with my money I know it takes time and practise to get better, but just have respect for the people who put the time into it and can do all this and not get lost like I do within 2 minutes of starting a game. And harstem is even casting his own games while doing all the shit I can't even do. Thumbs up to you, Cheers
playing since 2010, and just now, for the first time it hits me that "In the rear with the gear" could be construed as an innuendo / reference. and all because Harstem uses it on the title screen of the video's thumbnail lol
How much do you know about the campaign of SC1 and 2? If you don't really know it I would love to see a campaign playthrough, even if you just huge segments at once I would watch it, I dunno how many of your other viewers would watch it but I just think it'll be a good idea.
Ehh colossus aren't that great against marauders, and harstem was very marauder-heavy. That becomes a problem if there's lots of zealots, but there weren't really in the toss army. I think the reason he lost is just not enough units, not the lack of vikings. If you turned a bunch of his other units into vikings, he still would have lost that.
Oh yeah, Harstem. I miss the good old days, when you get all kinds of bad stuff thrown at you... I remember the good old days a month ago, when a terran 500 more mmr than me lost and was writing non-stop for solid 15 minutes, how I should die and stuff... He even continued after the game to write it into pm. Very nice. Ah, the good old days...
Hey buddy! You commented you wanted to learn marus build from IEM. I just wanted to point out that the build he used. He also used it vs showtime at ASUS (playoffs I think) on pillars of gold. Showtime that game opens stargate and Maru goes for multiple mediavcs with 4 mines into 3cc 5rax double Ebay multitask style keeping the protoss on max 4 bases. So if you do the IEM build at least watch the game from ASUS so you know the builds response to stargate. As the IEM build is the response to twilight openers. Also I strongly suggest watching inno vs TY from TSL6(or was it last chance) you should be 2 raxing TvT. It really helps to understand scouting and early game TvT meta which you seem to struggle with.
If not 2rax you should do Clems single banshee opener in TvT he showed at IEM. It is super safe and also gives good scouting with the banshee. The banshee makes you safe to any early tank drop
That bitter feeling when you work hard to achieve a win and your opponent blame the balance of the game when you expect him to at least show some respect after how you respect him by playing your best to beat him. You left the game victorious but confused, feeling wronged and getting a lil bit more disappointed with mankind. Don't be, those are losers in game and much likely in life, they are totally not the same with those who lose but don't blame anything else but themselves and continue to work hard to improve their shortcomings.
If you want to add an extra early game mechanic to your Terran build, pull your mule when its mining it's last patch. The close patch mules never make it home and drop 30 minerals of cargo in the process.
@@yurimiyama9825 th-cam.com/video/BJBG0AzJB08/w-d-xo.html You have 4 patches with 900 n 4 with 1800. If you mule drop the 900 patches, You'll end up with 16 scvs with 4 patch income vs 8patch income early on. The income stream difference is quite noticeable the longer it plays out.
@@yurimiyama9825 No, I'm disagreeing with your point because having 4 patches does not make you in a better position. You're bottlenecking your income by potentially having an extra 8 scvs idle if they were all harvesting at the same time then you'd double your income. The farthest ones are all the 900 patches and the close ones are all 1800.
It does, its' biggest problem is that the units are slow and most powerful when completely stationary. It gets shut down by cheaper armies and lacks the flexibility of bio. But it also has the highest burst damage of any army comp and impressive sustain. I think it could be really good with a lot more medivac play, or if there were a unit like science vessels to provide repair support without sacrificing economy.
I think the way that it becomes strong is if you were able to anticipate every move your enemy makes. I think in that scenario it gets disproportionately powerful, and that's why it feels so strong from the outside; if you were able to just fight constantly wherever the opponent went, it would beat most anything.
@@Xanthanarium it is insanely strong if you have map vision. If Terran had observers, then ground based offensives would become impossible. Mech does have a problem dealing with powerful Air comps like Viking Liberator and Skytoss, and it also has huge problems dealing with runbys and drops, which is why many Terrans build a lot of Turrets and Sensor Towers when playing mech.
You know the last guy is bad because he doesn't realize who Harstem is or that he has a youtube channel. Otherwise he most likely would have been more careful with his words. How can you complain about balance when you don't even know who the pro players on your server are.
"Dear Harstem, terran mech is fucking op,I hit with a flawless proxy stargate and he didn't die"
I thought the same. Fighting mech with stalkers... Why did it get wrong ?? hahaha

Originally, I found Harstem to learn how Protoss win games. Who knew watching him play Terran would be so instructional for how to play Protoss?
That off-center natural base after the 1 hour mark really got to me 🤯

The look of befuddlement on harstems face after getting bm was priceless haha

I love your attitude and the lil stories you tell us. Much love as always
