Hammerhead was probably caught by fishermen and severely weaker possibly bleeding. That hammerhead does not look healthy. You see it all the time with other species of fish after being caught they are bait for sharks. By the way, I think that is Boca Grand pass. I used to spearfish near there in my high school days.
The fact that the hh went into the landwash indicates that it is injured, old, or sick. That's what sharks do when they are unable to defend themselves.
Haven't hardly started watching the video but soon as they said the Hammer kept beaching itself the first thing you think is you have a sick creature...
Yep, but these so called "experts" somehow fail to understand that. Apparently they're more interested in creating sensationalism than stating realistic facts.
Bull sharks are robust and stocky, with a broad, flat snout and a relatively short, blunt head. They have a grayish-brown coloration with lighter undersides. They can grow up to 11 feet (3.5 meters) in length, with females generally being larger than males.
The hammerhead was ill, they don't normally beach themselves, and it made no defensive moves. Hardly a head to head confrontation, you guys are becoming sensationalists rather than educators.
Agreed even as it swam it was listing to one side making it swim kinda warbled. A normal healthy Hammerhead has a very distinct and straight forward gait in the water. Bulls saw this as a sign of ill health - checked it out and attacked. The older "scientist" know this so it's old data being reworked by a younger crew. Still doing it to pull in other young ppl who wouldn't know this.
Hey Texas person, I been born raise and fish the the Texas coast for years. Did anyone mention that sharks are a always in the waters around you? it doesn't matter if you are playing on the beach, fishing in the surf, fishing on the jetties, fishing in the bay, or fishing on the flats they are always there. Remember wading in the surf and you feel a sand paper skin fish rub against your leg.........?
Now from the very beginning, it was obvious something had to be wrong with the hammer head. It tried beaching itself and swimming weird. Didn't have to go diving all over the place to recognize that, then to come back to the video to come to the same conclusion. In the animal world the stronger prey on the weaker, doesn't matter the species. All of this makes for great viewing though 😊
Keep mind that not all regions of ocean are inhabited by orca. In an ecosystem where orcas are absent, sharks often being the top predator in the said ecosystem.
As someone who has fought both sharks I am not surprised that the Bull won the fight. I have never reeled in a Bull successfully but I caught the Hammerhead. The Bull is just stronger.
Its pretty obvious what happened. The hammerhead slept with one of of the bull sharks gf's and the bull shark got his buddies and taught the hammerhead a valuable lesson
I can't understand how hammerheads can get large prey with a mouth underneath. I think stingray suits their mouths. I go bull as they have a normal mouth.
Watching a faceoff between a Bull Shark and a Hammerhead was cool an' all but i feel like having all those divers there watching them might have changed their behavior a bit, maybe they would have acted differently if they weren't worried about all the humans around them.
@@milesb2111 because Bulls are known to be aggressive animals even when domesticated, due having really high testosterone levels. Similarly, Bull Sharks are known to be highly aggressive due to having higher testosterone levels than even Great Whites.
The original video with narration was enough. Humans are always bothering other species with minimal benefit. It's impossible to know all the factors a year ago. The Hammer Head could've been old or already injured. (I saw a documentary years ago showing that sharks have been known to eat their siblings in the womb.) Sharks are usually hungry. Large wild cats have been known to do the same. Idk why people don't sometimes think of this when people come across beached whale, etc. Sea animals aren't immortal.
I think when the hammerhead was tryna beach itself was him tryna get away from the bullshark , though its a shark its not one of most aggressive sharks. Idk i think bullsharks in a way will always have the full advantage because the way the hammerheads head shape is makes it more difficult for them to get a good bite or hold on the bullshark it would have to be under the hammerhead as of the bull shark like any other shark , its mouth is bigger and centered so its a easy bite and less effort of an attack than the hammerhead. Idk thats just my look on it though
Scientist 1: Hammerheads are cannibalistic. Scientist 2: Let's hook one, tag and see. Scientist 1: Shite, there's another one nearby, think he's coming for the hooked one. What's wrong with the above scenario. Leave them alone. Observe nature, but don't manipulate the outcome.
Florida is so bad with sharks right now, especially Bulls. Just about every fish you hook will have a shark trying to get it before you get it over the rail. That being said,Bull Shark is excellent eating when prepared properly.
does anyone know the outcome of the Hammerhead and Bull shark on the beach? It's the only reason I watched this for a 2 second clip with zero information
I bet bull sharks have stronger bite force than giant hammer heads. Possible only great whites have larger bite force than bull sharks (among sharks). Plus the head position and mouth on hammer heads quite awkard to have solid bite
Thanks for the video. Facts are the Bull sharks will attack and kill humans, Hammerheads don't, a fact since 1580 when records began, different natured Sharks, hence why the Hammerheads swims and trust humans, as seen in this video, the Bull Shark wouldn't come close to the divers, the Bull Shark will always win against a Great hammerhead full stop.
@5:28 my first guess is that the Hammerhead is sick or dying, I am still watching. @17:29 Another thought possibly a territorial dispute. @24:38 Bull Shark's are reincarnation of bad HOA presidents. @34:46 it is gang related....the Bull Sharks made an example out of the Hammerhead Shark! @ 43:38 my best guest goes back to my first guest. The Hammerhead was hurt, sick, dying or suicidal it is natures way of the survival of the fittest!!! P.S. to the person who commented about "Orca's", this was about sharks, not dolphin's ......yes, Orca's or a member oft the dolphin family.
Well good thing the entire original video has been spliced up, chopped to pieces, hidden, edited and censored for our own good, so we don’t get to see what happened for ourselves. But it’s ok, we trust the scientists.
Yeah it was pretty obvious from the start something was wrong with the hammerhead, just a few days ago we kept accidentally catching a whole bunch of these baby hammerheads and they did exactly what that one did, disoriented they kept beaching themselves and swimming sideways, true they are kinda fragile as sharks
Bullshark unfazed by having something stapled to its dorsal...it went away and probs irritated. You get a nose piercing😂. Not saying its wrong as its for information but just be real.
As someone who has fought both of these fish I am not surprised that the Bull Shark won the fight. I have never reeled a Bull successfully but I caught the Hammerhead.
I’m going back in a minute and I’ll call him back and let you guys go through the shark management and get the paperwork out there so you guys can get it out of the house so we have it all together for the next couple days and I will be able and get you to get the money and get the money out of the bank so I will get the paperwork from the office and then I will
I can never get bored watching these !
Hammerhead looked injured before the fight. I think his movements triggered the attack.
Hammerhead was probably caught by fishermen and severely weaker possibly bleeding.

Watching from Brazil 🇧🇷
And here I was thinking Nar Geo was above docu-tainment
Love the water there! Gorgeous just gorgeous!

Experts and scientists….terms thrown around way to often, ugh
Thank you cameraman, I like the reader's voice
Thank you guys for all these beautiful videos. Love ya'lls videos!
Sharks are so incredible!
Thanks guys for all these videos
Aquatic diversity is far better than terrestrial diversity ❤ 🌿🍃
you are the first
The strength and determination in this animal fight are unbelievable

They didn't say the Hammerhead beached itself. The said the Bullshatrk beached it.
Agree
@@pattiburkholder8087 it was likely ill from being caught by a fisherman and weak.
@@Angelo-ve5sdThey said both.
Watching from Australia 🇦🇺
Nat Geo, please tell your people it's pronounced "grawn-day", as a FL native it hurts my souls every time it's pronounced as "grand".
🤔
Fascinating stuff especially that I was able to see them up close in a Zoo.
This looks more like a sensationalized reality TV than a documentary.
🤔 I think that hammer was sick/injured bcuz great hammers are known shark and ray eaters...
Watching from Texas. Yeehaw lol

I'm for the hammerhead.. The hammerhead ,I'm assuming was attacked because the hammerhead was compromised in some way. Unfortunately. 😰😰

Bull shark 🦈 had hammer head lunch 🎉🎉
I am kind a curious were the tigershark stands in this comparison, i do believe they are also present in these waters.
when i hear Sharks are top apex predators in the ocean, i just laugh. Where are my beloved Orcas at? Come say hi to these sharks.
You are talking about dolphins, this is about sharks.
Who said anything about dolphins? He said Orcas(killer whales)

Is it just me, or did this animal fights seem more brutal than usual? What went wrong?
love how they always bark orders 3 times for a so called dramatic effect.

Certainly a possibility. More prevalent in mammals.
bull sharks are highly aggressive sharks.. why they are named bull sharks
@@milesb2111 because Bulls are known to be aggressive animals even when domesticated, due having really high testosterone levels. Similarly, Bull Sharks are known to be highly aggressive due to having higher testosterone levels than even Great Whites.
So they were putting on a show…
The hammerhead was repeatedly trying to beach itself, sick, perhaps? The bull sharks would sense that as well.

He said we have evidence then in the same sentence says it's plausible that they do. So no evidence?
Bulls not as big but are more agressive and have larger mouths and 4x the bite force of a ghammer. Money on the bull lol
Not EVEN a one-on-ome battle.
At 29:15 why don’t they remove the hooks from the sharks mouth???

Nonsense. A single encounter does not tell the story. Maybe the hammerhead was injured. One thing is true most of the time though …. Big eats small.
I bet bull sharks have stronger bite force than giant hammer heads. Possible only great whites have larger bite force than bull sharks (among sharks). Plus the head position and mouth on hammer heads quite awkard to have solid bite
