This very humble low/no budget video was hands down the best of all the dozens of misfire/stumbling acceleration videos I watched, because of the excellent description of the symptoms and the concise listing of the possible problems. My 2016 Grand Caravan was having this problem, and it ended up needing to replace the #4 cylinder ignition coil (had a P0304 code without engine light). I repaired it myself AFTER a Dodge service center could not find anything wrong or (supposedly) couldn't even reproduce the symptoms in their test drive.
Damn I love TH-cam because of people like you man! I was worried about my car that had all does symptoms and took it to a mechanic and told him to just change my spark plugs and ignition coils and now it’s perfect!!!
I had a bad misfire and put in an upstream O2 sensor. Still misfired. Feared it was my cat going bad. Watched your video and tried a coil pack - fixed the problem. Thanks for the inspiration.

"Back in the day".... 🙂 bad Spark Plug wires (now known as Coil over Plugs or "COP") would break down say at low speeds under acceleration, which also will cause reduced gas mileage. I have a 2003 Lincoln Nav bought new in '03 with the "Intec" engine (not Triton). It now has 141,375 miles. Replaced the factory original spark plugs w/ Motorcraft Plugs at 110,000 miles, due to slight decrease in gas mileage. Now, the gas mileage is even less. Intermittently, the engine under "load," at around 45 MPH will "stumble" or "misfire" when accelerating without engaging "passing gear." It doesn't do it every time. The 'COPs' are factory originals (will be 20 years in June 2023). Your video, the issues I'm having and remembering 'Back in the Day" how spark plug wires would cause the same issues... Time for me to replace the Coil Packs. BTW: The "check in engine" light did not come one. No PO300s codes either. Hope to see more videos from you....

My fuel injectors work, i changed plugs ,changed coil packs ,changed fuel pump but still getting misfire at idle and when the car is under load. Before this my car had blown a coil pack and then as i was limping it home 2 others died with it. Idk wtf is wrong with it.

So I replaced my spark plugs and a coil in the 5th cylinder because I did have a misfire. Now I have noticed when I'm accelerating between 40-50mph my rpm jumps to 2,000rpm. If I barely let go of the gas the rpm will drop back to around 1500. But it only happens between 40-50mph. It will eventually drop back to 1500rpm if I dont release the gas. Do you think it might be the other engine coils? I don't think its my transmission it shifts smoothly. Any idea of what it could be? Thanks.

The issue with my truck is that when I get on the gas the rpms literally jump from 4 to 6 thousand rpms like hella fast and it makes a clicking sound, engine oil is fine
I have a 2016 Kia Forte with manual trasmission, and it sometimes hesitates when I change gears and if I floor the accelerator. The strange thing is that it only does it when changing gears, and only sometimes. It's like I don't shift properly, which may be the case, but I drive other manual transmission cars and it never happens.

yes it could be or your timing belt could be going out. It can be stretching and getting to the point of breaking. Any codes? Could be vacuum leak, torque converter, timing belt, leaky injectors, fuel pressure regulator. Alot of things could be going on. Have your timing checked by a good mechanic. One mistake on the timing on a honda, and the engine is toast

I drive a stick shift and the car wouldn't pump fuel in 1st or 3rd but was OK at 15miles an hour in 2nd. I drove 10miles up hill in sheer terror. Cars honking my family in car and trunk full of groceries. It could be a timing chain issue as the fuel pump and filter and seal were all replaced by the VW dealership earlier this year at Easter. Smell of fuel when I set off in the car coming from the exhaust.

Hello, I have a 1992 dodge b250 van w/5.2l eng. and bucks when up to 55mph and above I have replaced coil and plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor, I also replaced pressure regulator thinking maybe not holding fuel pressure. No help and still bucking at highway speed. Fuel pressure is at 31 psi at idle w/vac hose on regulator and 39 without vac hose on regulator. Seems good, but what else could be wrong.

Whenever an issue crops up with my car, my first thought isn't "I wonder what's causing it", instead it's actually "We'll fuck, how much is it gonna cost?" Got a problem with mine where I'll slow down and stop at the light and then the car drops down to below 500 rpm and it starts to shake and want to die out. Then when I press on the gas, the car does nothing. When I lightly step on the accelerator, there's some activity and then I'm able to start moving again. Oddly enough, I put fuel injector cleaner into it and it ran for a couple days just fine but now it's done by it again. Also what's weird is when it starts to shake and stutter at the stoplight, I pop it into neutral and it idles okay. Car even runs normally when I first start it up in the morning but then maybe 5 minutes into driving it starts acting up again
@@tevinlinton4204 Yes. One of the spark plugs in cylinder #4 failed, so we replaced all of them along with the wires. The last mechanic used different spark plug brands so we made the new ones all Bosch. The thing about my car is that Mercedes made it so each cylinder uses two plugs instead of one. V6 = 12 spark plugs. So it was a bit pricey, lol.
@@tevinlinton4204 I did not have a scanner of my own, so the mechanic had to do it. The replacing of the wires and all 12 plugs plus labour wasn't too bad, it cost about $700 Canadian Dollars. How are you doing and how is the weather over there, by the way?
My truck is a 2006 Chevy Silverado with the l33 5.3 it misfires when my transmission does not shift and my truck holds a steady 3500 to 4000 rpms. It is when it tries to shift from 3rd to 4th

I changed my ignition coil and all 6 spark plugs on my mustang and its still hesitating bad!! When it ran fine before eith cyclinder 5 spark plug completely torn off!!!!! How is that possible? I know its not a big issue because it ran fine before but my scanner said P0305 AND P0316 :(

I have a Chevelet 2000 cargo van...I'd change the spark plugs,wires,rotter button,fuel filter,switched out two bad fuel injectors,and fuel pump and then drove it on the interstate it ran ok until I'd gave it more gas then gas started to leak from up under the van...I am so frustrated can you help?

hey i put my ac on and later switched it off manual petrol varient and now my car jerks very heavyly in 1st gear while launching, when launched in 2nd gear it goes smoothly .. any suggestions !!
Thank u for this video! My son has a 2016 Chevy Malibu! He was told he needed his spark plugs changed! He got them done and the car shop admitted they put on bad spark plugs and then his car started having the misfire! I am going to see if these things fix his issues because he was not having this issue before taking it into the shop for a spark plug change

My 2013 ford explorer start normally with no engine code but when I drive about 20_40 start jerking feel like transmission slipping and the rpm go down and up again with every slip in. Is this transmission issue or something else. Thanks for your video bro 🌹
Wow! My vehicle started doing this earlier after I used Cata-clean in my tank followed by a tank of premium gas now it's sputtering. Stay away good people. Cata-clean is a joke and my vehicle was running excellent before. I used the Cata-clean for basically preventive maintanence and to help further clean my fuel system. Do Not Do It!
My 2021 Lexus ES350with 9,500 miles has had a hesitation at low speed most noticeable in 4th gear at 20-35 MPH. The hesitation is only for a second or two then runs normal. Northside Lexus kept my car for 28 days and all they said was use premium fuel, which I have done, and the hesitation is still there, Any ideas ?
My 2019 Honda Civic 1.5t 26,000 miles. My engine will knock or misfire/stutter during load up hill around 2,000 rpm. I also noticed today after going down a long hill to a stop, then taking off right around 30 mph same thing...stutter, knocking noise, hesitation. If I let off the gas which I do immediately when hearing/feeling this it fine. I thought maybe it was the gas, so finally used up what was in there, and filled with fresh gas from the busiest station around. They get a new truck in almost daily. I also added a bottle of dry gas. Been trying to figure this out for a week now. Changed my air filter, cleaned my plugs which didn't look that bad, fresh oil change, still doing it.

I dont know if you respond to these but my car jerks between 35 and 55 if my heat and rear defrost is on. Jerks at tiny bit but it's hardly noticeable. I've had my battery and alternator tested at autozone and I changed an 02 sensor.

Car Hacks also if i drive it for over 30 mins and then come to a stop light it starts to idle weak and i have to put my foot on the break and gas to keep the rpms high enough to keep it idling right
If no check engine light would check the cheaper things 1st. Vacuum leak, air and fuel filter, clean mass air flow, clean throttle body etc. Maybe even a loose intake air tube. Going to take some diagnosing to figure it out.
I had a jerking/misfire for awhile. Replaced the spark plugs, cleaned the throttle body. Thinking fuel injectors are bad? Goes away when giving it more gas
have not yet but symptoms are leaning towards fuel issue ( clogged filter, injectors, failing fuel pump) cant afford to fix nor have the knowledge to know where to look. Occasionaly run fuel injector cleaner in the tank and don't notice a difference @@nevinkuser9892

It could be alot of the things i mentioned in the video. Start with the simple/cheapest things 1st

Check for vacuum leaks. Also check fuel pressure

@@tevinlinton4204 I did not have a scanner of my own, so the mechanic had to do it. The replacing of the wires and all 12 plugs plus labour wasn't too bad, it cost about $700 Canadian Dollars.

My truck is a 2006 Chevy Silverado with the l33 5.3 it misfires when my transmission does not shift and my truck holds a steady 3500 to 4000 rpms. It is when it tries to shift from 3rd to 4th

Ok now when I turn it on it accelerates decelerates chokes and dies! I’m @ a loss!! I haven’t owned this yr or model previously!! I changed my ignition coil and all 6 spark plugs on my mustang and its still hesitating bad!!
When it ran fine before eith cyclinder 5 spark plug completely torn off!!!!! How is that possible? I know its not a big issue because it ran fine before but my scanner said P0305 AND P0316 :(
What year? If you have a distributor cap check the rotary button and cap. Also i would do a compression test on cylinder 5

I have a Chevelet 2000 cargo van...I'd change the spark plugs,wires,rotter button,fuel filter,switched out two bad fuel injectors,and fuel pump and then drove it on the interstate it ran ok until I'd gave it more gas then gas started to leak from up under the van...I am so frustrated can you help?

Thank u for this video! My son has a 2016 Chevy Malibu! He was told he needed his spark plugs changed! He got them done and the car shop admitted they put on bad spark plugs and then his car started having the misfire! I am going to see if these things fix his issues because he was not having this issue before taking it into the shop for a spark plug change

Thanks had this issue with my '15 Compass HA w/ 102K miles. It turned out to be the fuel pump and the spark plugs needed to be replaced. Thanks for the video.

Hopefully it is just a vacuum leak. That means one of the oxygen carrying hoses has a leak which lets extra air out or too much air into the engine.
if you have a vacuum leak would cause bank 1 or bank 2 to go into rich condition and that would send an engine code with the check engine light on.

My 2013 ford explorer start normally with no engine code but when I drive about 20_40 start jerking feel like transmission slipping and the rpm go down and up again with every slip in. Is this transmission issue or something else.

Wow! My vehicle started doing this earlier after I used Cata-clean in my tank followed by a tank of premium gas now it's sputtering. Stay away good people. Cata-clean is a joke and my vehicle was running excellent before. I used the Cata-clean for basically preventive maintanence and to help further clean my fuel system. Do Not Do It!

My 2021 Lexus ES350with 9,500 miles has had a hesitation at low speed most noticeable in 4th gear at 20-35 MPH. The hesitation is only for a second or two then runs normal. Northside Lexus kept my car for 28 days and all they said was use premium fuel, which I have done, and the hesitation is still there, Any ideas ?

My 2019 Honda Civic 1.5t 26,000 miles. My engine will knock or misfire/stutter during load up hill around 2,000 rpm. I also noticed today after going down a long hill to a stop, then taking off right around 30 mph same thing...stutter, knocking noise, hesitation. If I let off the gas which I do immediately when hearing/feeling this it fine. I thought maybe it was the gas, so finally used up what was in there, and filled with fresh gas from the busiest station around. They get a new truck in almost daily. I also added a bottle of dry gas. Been trying to figure this out for a week now. Changed my air filter, cleaned my plugs which didn't look that bad, fresh oil change, still doing it.

I dont know if you respond to these but my car jerks between 35 and 55 if my heat and rear defrost is on. Jerks at tiny bit but it's hardly noticeable. I've had my battery and alternator tested at autozone and I changed an 02 sensor.
At that speed it's probably your fuel filter/fuel pump/fuel regulator.

Car Hacks also if i drive it for over 30 mins and then come to a stop light it starts to idle weak and i have to put my foot on the break and gas to keep the rpms high enough to keep it idling right
If no check engine light would check the cheaper things 1st. Vacuum leak, air and fuel filter, clean mass air flow, clean throttle body etc. Maybe even a loose intake air tube. Going to take some diagnosing to figure it out.

I had a jerking/misfire for awhile. Replaced the spark plugs, cleaned the throttle body. Thinking fuel injectors are bad? Goes away when giving it more gas
I'm having that exact same problem and leaning towards injectors and harmonic balancer. Did you ever figure it out?
have not yet but symptoms are leaning towards fuel issue ( clogged filter, injectors, failing fuel pump) cant afford to fix nor have the knowledge to know where to look. Occasionaly run fuel injector cleaner in the tank and don't notice a difference
