@@smokingcrab2290 I'll type out what changed if you feel like reading it. Might be a little verbose. Basically I was raised as a fundamental christian, with a belief system much like John MacArthur here. I was a devout, born again believer, and I felt that love of God until I was around 17. I had something of a crisis around the age of 17, and began to feel that the world was an evil and cold place. Regardless of my feelings and terrible mental state, I began to research thoroughly, for hours a day, the bible, supposed contradictions, scientific arguments against god, and other similar things. These arguments are to this day in tact, and even though I desperately want to come back to the fold, I still have not been able to reconcile science with religion. I later found that I am a spiritual person, and that being an atheist was incredibly unfulfilling and depressing. I want to feel love and hope, not sorrow and nihilism. So I made a deliberate choice to believe in some kind of God again, despite my many reservations. I have found in the short time that I have been praying, love and hope has returned to my life. I still struggle, but the difference is, in spite of the suffering, I feel hope for a better future for the first time I can remember. I know that a true God hears my prayers, and is slowly helping me. My dilemma at this time is to figure out which God he is. I want to come back to Jehovah, mostly due to my familiarity with Him, but I cannot get past the, in my own opinion, flawed book that is the bible and its contradictions with the world we live in. Thanks for reading. I might just choose to go back to church anyway. I don't want to think anymore, I just want peace.

Super exposition of this passage. Makes simple what we are to do. I just don't understand Mr MacArthur why you insert the baptism thing. You certainly don't get from scripture the idea of giving someone new clothes after being baptized. Not sure where you get that from at all. It seems to cheapen the message when these hypothetical ideas are brought in, as if scripture isn't enough and there has to be some additional fanciful tale to spur someone on to live a biblically holy life.
Righteousness and true holiness
Ephesians 4:24 - And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
