I have watched many videos as I am getting into product photography, and your videos, and your method of explaining are REALLY vibing well for me! Thank you! I feel inspired which is the most important thing!!!!
Greetings from the southwest suburbs of Chicago. Great video. I am a hobby photographer and for now just trying to learn to control lighting. I shoot mainly landscape and anything else that catches my eye.
Hi great video! I’m a beginner. Would you recommend the Godox sl60w? And when it comes to soffboxes: does it matter what quality a soft box is? Does any cheap soft box work or is there a lot of difference?
Please can you write a list of what you recommended in the video and a brand you’d recommend/specific requirements to remember when buying? Your Amazon store front link didn’t work for me (may be because I’m in the UK) really helpful video just need what you suggested and I’ll be having a go!
Hi Madiy, check out the product photography playlist in the description. A few videos there that will answer these questions! To start, here is a specific video on gear th-cam.com/video/Z7FWQDzjPGo/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for this video and tips, Chris I have a small tabletop set up in a spare bedroom and I use one continuous light; I sometimes use an umbrella with it to soften the light as well.

hey love the videos, learning so much from them! can you please tell me what is the thing you're messing with at 3:56? does it come with the light? and do you have any specific recomendations for lighting for photographing wood craft pieces? i have been doing my dad's small business photography and i wanted to level it up a bit more, but didn't want to spend all that much money on a single light ahah thank you so much!
That piece comes with the light. I like the forza nanlite I'm using here but it is expensive. You get what you pay for though. I have some more affordable options in the description if you dig around those links.
Thank you for this video! I am just getting back into photography and am looking to dive into product photography. Your video definitely helps quite a bit on approach but I am having a hard time deciding on if I should get a continuous monolight or a strobe light? I saw in one of your other videos you were using a strobe light but then in this one you were using a continous light. When it comes to price point I am not under a budget but want to buy a lighting system that I can grow into rather then buying something super cheap I might grow out of really quickly. What are your thoughts? I have been looking at Godox and have heard from others their products are top notch.
I'd suggest starting with a continuous light. Either the light I have in the description of this video or godox vl150. Both nanlite and godox are good.
I have literally Zero Views on my CONTENTS 🥲😀. I just started yesterday. I think i am good in creating contents but not that patient to Promote my channel and such . any advice on that? 👍

Hi Chris, can we use 28-70mm lens for product photography?
Please do a video on large products! Such as doors, couches, etc…
Thanks for this video and tips, Chris I have a small tabletop set up in a spare bedroom and I use one continuous light; I sometimes use an umbrella with it to soften the light as well.

Can I ask about grey card/ that colour grading card you have on wall???
I used to use it for color grading but now it's just decorations lol. I didn't find it useful for the majority of work
Thank you 😊

Hey Chirs, what did you use to connect the light diffuser to the short extension arm?
Hi - I used this set of screws: amzn.to/3CGcGEO
Would this be the perfect set up for product/ portrait and TH-cam?
Yep a 1 light setup is great for those too. I used to film all my youtube videos with just 1 light.
