What a wonderful collection of a life well spent. Here in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia we’ve been covered in snow for a week, with constant grey skies and big fluffy flakes. It’s-9 with a windchill of -19 today. Much colder than our normal -2 or -3. Too cold to walk today. Snuggle in with Molly and have a wonderful week.
Watching from Nova Scotia as well. :) We had a white Christmas in Halifax Nova Scotia for the first time in 11 years. Really cold today but the winters have been getting milder over the years.

I'm 68 and have photos not only in black and white but in many different formats like Polaroids, square formats, large and small etc. My wife's mother recently died and she spent a lot of time exploring old shoeboxes and the like discovering photos of her mom that she never knew existed. She used them to make a calendar for her Dad. It was really quite something. A moving experience

A big thank you to the viewer requesting this video. It was like a visit in person with you Nigel, as you thumb through your "throwback" photo album on this snowy day in the UK. Molly is so cute. I assumed you all in the UK/Europe would be accustomed to the snow accumulation you described. Silly of me. As it is, we are sitting at 76 degrees today at 2:30pm with heavy rain and will be close to freezing temperatures by morning. 30 to 40 degree temperature swings within a couple of hours are not uncommon in this part of Texas. You, Molly and your UK viewers keep warm and safe.
We are a maritime island, with the sea never more than 70 miles away. I’m also at the foothills of the Pennine Chain, a line of hills that runs almost the length of England. Air off the Atlantic cools as it rises over us, and we get more than our fair share of rain, but seldom do we get a lot of snow. I’ve lived through two major events in my life that brought the UK to a standstill. Lancashire is a beautiful county, mired in thousands of years of tumultuous history, and blessed with awe inspiringly beautiful countryside, but our weather is pretty crap. 😊

That was a very good idea! It has been snowing and raining all day here near Hamburg! I started a knitting project yesterday evening - late! Found a ball of wool from some socks I made for the daughter when she was small! Now she's gonna get a little scarf - a Sophie scarf!🧶 Haven't knit for years but that looked quite simple and I'm making good progress in front of the fire!🥃 Peace and Love to all out there 🌈💝🪷

He had long hair and she's virtually scalped him. He feels a lot better for it... I can tell how frisky he is now. But what bad timing with the snow. He's lying next to me on the couch with his fleece on.

She is just as gorgeous today. I am the same today, I live not too far from you & the snow kept on coming down last night. My little pup (8 months old) loves the snow. He’s only seen it once before (I think it was November) & he wasn’t keen, but today he couldn’t get enough of it. I only let him out for about 5 minutes once an hour & he thoroughly enjoyed himself. I didn’t want him getting too cold or clogged up with snow! He’s a cavalier King Charles x Pembroke Welsh corgi. He’s a long, low rider with big floppy ears. Love your content. ❤️🖖🐾

Thank you - super pics. Yesterday morning we were supposed to take off at 06.30 from Schipol Airport but... didn't happen until about 08.00 as we had to have our wings de-iced! Hi Nigel, lovely pictures, Molly is so cute with all the fur! She’s very much like my Poppy who is exactly the same colour and looks the same except her ears don’t stick up, they’re floppy!😂🥰 She is also a rescue dog of the same age and I’ve had her for 5 years, but she came from a kennel and was a breeding bitch. She was intimidated by me other dogs and bullied by them although the owners did seem to have taken good care of her. I went there to pick up a small cupboard I’d bought on eBay, the lady did upcycled furniture and I had no idea it was at a kennels. So, I went to get the cupboard and came home with a free Llasa Poo ! My partner had quite a surprise as he didn’t want a dog but I did, but he adores her every bit as much as I do and she changed the feel of our home immediately, it now feels like a proper family home now. Amazing what a little creature can do. I’ve got a social phobia and can’t go out alone, but strangely I can if I’m with Poppy, she’s given me back my freedom to go walking to the woods and down the local beach! Hello Nigel! I'm very jealous of your snow! Here in Edinburgh we have heavy rain. Very boring. I love the photos. I had several holidays in the Lake District and climbed Hellvellyn twice. I remember the perils of Striding Edge and the monuments to the people who had fallen off. I seem to remember someone tried to cross on horseback? Enjoy your snow. Peace and love.
We came up Swirral Edge and went down Striding edge on this climb. We came across a lad carrying a bike who asked us where he was, and was there an easier way down? We just gawped at him. I have a pic looking down Striding Edge and you can see him coming up.😂🤪🚴♂️
Lovely to see your pics Nigel. I’m a month older than you, in our day we had to take pics with a camera using film, then have them developed. It was expensive which is why our generation doesn’t have as many pics. Stay warm and don’t go walking on slippery pavements, it’s not worth the risk. I hope you have plenty of supplies, the cold will last a good few days I think.

I sold the boat when I got cancer and I found it difficult to do all the heavy work involved. The boat was also due its 25 yr out of water survey, and I just couldn’t face all the work that involved. I’d lived on her for about 16 years, so I was ready for a change.

Thank you for putting it together, I laughed out loud at Molly with her cross eyes bless her. And that is a beautiful one of her snuggling up under your chin. Let’s hope the snow goes away soon so you can both get out. It’s even snowing here in NZ and we are in midsummer🥹

Yesterday morning we were supposed to take off at 06.30 from Schipol Airport but... didn't happen until about 08.00 as we had to have our wings de-iced! I'm happy to be back home in Cyprus, must say. Blue sky, sun shining but the siffles have made their appearance...

Really enjoyed seeing you as a younger man . What a good looking, adventurous and interesting fellow! I have few photos as a young woman because I shyly hid from the camera. Not any more! I'm old and gray but full of life and I don't mind the camera at all.
Hi Nigel, lovely pictures, Molly is so cute with all the fur! She’s very much like my Poppy who is exactly the same colour and looks the same except her ears don’t stick up, they’re floppy!😂🥰 She is also a rescue dog of the same age and I’ve had her for 5 years, but she came from a kennel and was a breeding bitch. She was intimidated by me other dogs and bullied by them although the owners did seem to have taken good care of her. I went there to pick up a small cupboard I’d bought on eBay, the lady did upcycled furniture and I had no idea it was at a kennels. So, I went to get the cupboard and came home with a free Llasa Poo ! My partner had quite a surprise as he didn’t want a dog but I did, but he adores her every bit as much as I do and she changed the feel of our home immediately, it now feels like a proper family home now. Amazing what a little creature can do. I’ve got a social phobia and can’t go out alone, but strangely I can if I’m with Poppy, she’s given me back my freedom to go walking to the woods and down the local beach!
Sorry to ramble, but she’s really changed my life!

Hello Nigel! I'm very jealous of your snow! Here in Edinburgh we have heavy rain. Very boring. I love the photos. I had several holidays in the Lake District and climbed Hellvellyn twice. I remember the perils of Striding Edge and the monuments to the people who had fallen off. I seem to remember someone tried to cross on horseback? Enjoy your snow. Peace and love.
We came up Swirral Edge and went down Striding edge on this climb. We came across a lad carrying a bike who asked us where he was, and was there an easier way down? We just gawped at him. I have a pic looking down Striding Edge and you can see him coming up.😂🤪🚴♂️
Lovely to see your pics Nigel. I’m a month older than you, in our day we had to take pics with a camera using film, then have them developed. It was expensive which is why our generation doesn’t have as many pics. Stay warm and don’t go walking on slippery pavements, it’s not worth the risk. I hope you have plenty of supplies, the cold will last a good few days I think.

Nice pics Nigel . Lovely boat as well , what made you sell the boat and come back to bricks and mortar? Mooring fees perhaps, ? I know they can be expensive. Stay warm and safe , very cold in Norfolk today ( Monday) no snow, but very, very wet .
I sold the boat when I got cancer and I found it difficult to do all the heavy work involved. The boat was also due its 25 yr out of water survey, and I just couldn’t face all the work that involved. I’d lived on her for about 16 years, so I was ready for a change.

Hi Nigel. You have the same name as my late dad. I havent watched this vlog yet but i wanted to ask you, as someone who always yearned for children in my late teens and 20s but now being 37 and still not found person i want them with and being older and more aware of the world, i am unsure whether i still want them. What is your opinion on kids or no kids. Will i regret not having them? I just mean, are they worth it or is the worry too much. Asking someone with experience.
