    Interesting video. do you know which zone the balloon flower is adapted to and where to get it?

    • @D_in_MN
      @D_in_MN ปีที่แล้ว

      I grow in zone 4 ( MN..so plants die back over winter and return in late spring). I have purchased at garden stores in 4" pots. Balloon flrs will spread over years if you clip spent flowers and let drop to ground. Even grow in rocky areas!

    How often should we till the top surface of soil and is there any benefit of doing it.

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Chaitanya Srivastava, Well, many people advise to do the tilling of top soil on regular basis and definitely is has advantages. Like, if you use clay type soil, after tilling, roots are going to get more Oxygen and it helps to grow plants faster. Plus, it also helps if you use any liquid fertilizer. But, you have already observed that I don't do it and it's because, it's impossible to do for me as I have way too many plants. That's why I always use soil mix that is good for plants and no need of tilling the soil. If we use loose components like Cocopeat or even Perlite, there is actually no need of tilling. Also, at the same time, I also avoid using heavy clay type soil for my garden. That's it and TC :-)

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are actually winter flowering plant..Might be they were surviving in the nursery as many winter flowering plants do! Got a new environment, more hot and dry weather and so they died! Sept-Oct is the best time to sow the seeds!

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Shagun Garg, Though they bloom in Winter too, the actual growth time is Summer and blooms occur on new growths. As you have planted in August, I am sure it didn't get much time to produce new growths. Please fertilize well and provide plenty of Sunlight. Your plant would bloom well this year for sure, Good luck 🙂

    Great video! But sheesh... 120 days later... I'm thinking of just buying a pregerminated plant or the bare roots online. It's 10 buck each, but i just dont have the patience ever since I put all my hard time and effort into a seed tray that got destroyed by "Damping Off" fungus which killed everything..
