word... in this time of thousands of podcasts, he actually has a craaaaazy guest line-up.. so many amazing artists and people in general who come on the show.. Truly one of my fav podcasts/shows ever
This is "THE" episode that I wish that ALL young black and brown boys AND men could watch, listen, learn, digest. implement and pass on. SOOO many nuggets and gem's.
i genuinely want to understand, why do black people always include others? "black and brown boys" nah it's a room full of Black men, talking to other Black men, speaking from a Black experience.
These brothers are speaking thru a mic that has been dropped already! LOVE your podcast, #mathhoffa & thank you for the seed you planted bc no one these days appreciates the roots of the tree.
It's crazy how I was never really a Tupac fan but still held him in such high regard. I was always impressed at his messages/lyrical content at such a young age. He was like an old head kid
This has to be the best episode on this show yet, most spiritual. I'm not a black man but this went deeper on a human spiritual level, we're all bound and illusions are getting in the way of true elevation of self, of all.
I felt like I was sitting in one of those barber chairs, soaking up the wisdom. Omar and Kane gave so many gems!! S/o to Math, hes killing the game!! Best interviewer out!!
A LOT OF WISDOM was dropped in this interview and I thoroughly enjoyed it!!! Great work MH and gang, it was such a joy to see my idols dropping knowledge to this day, fine human beings right there 🙏❤️ I even enjoyed the gentleman that came in late, very intelligent man:) It's just sometimes nice to see your favorites come around decades later and think to yourself, now that is why I always connected to and loved them so much growing up 😊
I actually felt like my brothers were in the living room having a conversation with me…. This was up lifting for me. It made me laugh, it made my think, it made me learn. I’m going to save this video and rewatch it again so I can learn from it again and again.
I can’t believe how humble Kane is like does he know he’s a legend .Man I wish the young ones listen to him and take his advice it would do them some good ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Its so crazy about the Father scenario Omar is talking about. I have a bunch of friends who grew up without their fathers and all turned out to be great fathers now💯✅🔥✅✅💯💯💯
When a young man truly acknowledges and processes the hurt that he feels without his father’s consistent presence( or a healthy presence) in his life one of two things happens. He either becomes an amazing father or follows in his own father’s footsteps. My generation was Kane’s generation. Many of the fathers were shouting “ that ain’t my baby” “ She a hoe! How do I know it’s mines”? Then you add the crack epidemic which meant that mothers were now getting hooked and fathers were going to prison in record numbers. We are seeing the effects of that. I always say these brothers may not understand how to be good husbands, but, they are present fathers. You see young brothers with smoked out lips and underwear showing with a baby stroller and a snuggly carrier on the front with a baby in it. They know the hurt! Forget the false narrative that the media attempts to portray about black men not being good fathers. I know great fathers! Epic Dads to be exact!
When Math started to realize that Kane is a little uncomfortable with the topic being about this love life back then he switched it up immediately. Thats the type of instinct you need as a serious interviewer. Nore would have pushed that topic into oblivion but thats why everybody loves Drink Champs its unprofessional but highly entertaining and they own that because they dont try to be professional.
Yes finally Math you dropped this dope ass interview..Got tired of just the clips..Fiending like fiend for this 1 right here..But it was worth the wait bro..Salute to ya transition from battle rap 2 podcasting..You on they necks out here
THIS IS LIFE! Math…..brother I want to thank you for the platform. When my brothers talk about the pain and trauma of being “Fatherless” is so powerful. I lost my father in ‘83 during a bombing of the Marine Corps barracks in Beirut, Lebanon. Ten years later, I became a US Marine myself. And the trauma of his loss and the loss of my Marines in combat, just in life loss has been big, and just now, at 47 years of age am I learning how to speak out about my traumas and fears. Thank you Math!
Man Omar dropped so much knowledge. This show should be a traveling show for the masses. Teach these young men where the roaches in life is really coming from.💜
This is classic shit...this the best interview and the one that will put you over the top to where you need to be...take advantage stay humble and keep it moving..love you bro real nigga shit..I learned alot from this and some of the shit was talkin about what I'm goin thru in life right now...appreciate it...💯
OMG!! This was sooo powerful!!! My Black Kings need to get together like this more often and share their experiences. Seeing Big Daddy Kane took me back to my college days, I'm 54 yrs old so hip hop for me in the 80's was special. I love the way Esso represents Queens he let em know we in here🤣. Thanks for the mature grown man conversation, it gives a Sister like me hope for meeting a well rounded Black Man. #Memphisluv
Not just black men this hit for all different races we are all human beings and can connect with these topics especially the fatherlessness I related to alot that was being said this one was dope pfffff all the episodes are dope Ive watched almost all of them and so far Ive enjoyed every episode 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
This is one of the best episodes I've had the pleasure of experiencing thus far. I say "experiencing" because of the way it's shot give viewers the feeling like we're sitting there with yall. By far Math got the best show out there in my opinion. And it's only getting better every episode. There were so many great moments in this one it will definitely be remembered. Keep doing what you doing because we're feeling it's greatness. Thank you for these gems. Much Love & Respect...
Omar dropped so many jewels. IMO the best part is when he talked about once you create life it's your responsibility. I understand that women can make things difficult for men but as a man it is his responsibility to walk through the fire for his children. He doesn't have to be in a romantic relationship with that woman, but his children belong to him forever. I understood his response to Math too. We try to make sense of things and don't realize we are rationalizing trauma. Great episode!
Easy for you to say because you are a women. Speaking from a woman's perspective. You have no clue what its like to be a man or what a man goes though. Stay on ya place ma ma
Big Daddy Kane & Omar Epps are legends dropping jewels in this interview. Salute to these men and Matt Hoffa for having this platform. Many can learn from this.
Real Talk Math Hoffa: This has been THE SINGLE BEST DISCUSSION I’ve ever witnessed on social media. So much knowledge was given from everyone that had something to say and it was free of bullshit. And BIG SHOUTOUT to the homie in the Dodgers hat from Gary, IN, y’all need to have him on the show regularly because his insight is something that a lot of people can learn from, including myself
Man I love this!! Needed it. real grown man having real deep insightful conversations I felt like I was there sitting down with em learning, studying takin it all in.
This was really needed brothers! Much respect ! I and many many other brothers can feel this discussion and relate, and appreciate dialogue such as this.
I watched the rest of this podcast and a day or two later I learned by father, who i hadn't seen/heard from in over 20+ years passed away. All of the knowledge that they said and the portions about fatherhood, knowing who you are and where you cam from was much more relevant
Man I just hit the sub button. You got a a panel that brings magic. The two homies bringing fire to ya show. Then you bring on the guest its a wrap. Make sure them homies are eating. I dont want to see yall fall out and the magic gone. Im riding withca.
My boy Math you have created a diamond bro. This channel / your platform is best in and for black culture! The way y'all conduct the conversations very professional. Your brand will be so biggest. You are bridging the gap, don't worry about the pace. Everything will be exactly the way you have envision it. This is a message from the spirit of me. If you know what I mean. I need no thanks in the future! Just wanted to tell you because you are special chosen one. Always been and you will only keep elevating. Keep it up and stay on your path bro.
Classic classic classic episode. Thank you for a high iq interview.. Kane, def one of the reasons I rhyme. Since Juice (s/o Omar) I been getting crazy skinz ever since!
Salute King Hoffa for bringing the culture to people who can't get out and be directly involved in it...I love how BDK knows he a legend when everyone clapped he sat back and received his praises, and everyone there showing that love and respect. this is why I love this shit, moments like that
I never heard of MATH as a rapper, but I respect the fact that’s where he started. But this podcast is something we didn’t know we needed…for so many different reasons. It’s powerful to hear men that look like me be given their flowers AND see them be willing to talk about subject matters normally not touched on in the public sphere. We have living legends, icons and trailblazers who have a treasure trove of wisdom, insight and history to give. So heavy respect to this podcast for providing a solid, respected base for us to hear from them.
I love you guys always a great educated adult conversation. The difference to me about surviving our era is that we've all been at deaths door but we had someone, praying and standing in the gap for us and that is an incredible truth. Much love from Cleveland. 🤗🙏🏽💪🙌
This is a great great show & I am very glad i went back & saw this full show, from the few short I watched of this show. This was very very deep. I was blessed to be able to get to enjoy the early yrs of hip hop from Fatback - King Tim the III thru to now OT The Real. The early yrs I roller skated to hip hop. In the 80's to 01 i was blessed to be a d.j. from house parties/working with music production cos./ to clubs from where i'm from MN. Being a very long time lover of music of a lot of different genres thru out my life so far. This show was so deep I am send out to all on your show my verbal flowers to you all. This is from white man that loves music. NEXT i'm going to check out the full version of ONYX cause that too was a great show that i saw of the short version. The other great one i saw all the way through was Treach. I really love the stories i didn't know about.
On the topic of the younger needs to listen or try to learn from the older....Paul Mooney said "A new broom can sweep the floor, but an old broom knows where the dirts at". 💎
This was a spectacular podcast Omar and Kane are thinking brothers. Great call Math not to have bigga there was a violation but we forgive you because this was off the hook 💯💥
I can relate to this convo, it took me a long time to forgive my dad , but one day i ask myself like who is my father's dad as he never talked about his dad ever and it didn't dawn on me that my dad was suppose to have a dad i wasn't even aware, cos nobody spoke about my father’s father. I was like how come I wasn't aware that my dad was supposed to have a dad? crazy right, i felt crazy for a min . This question only came in my head 17 years later after his death. That was when I realized that he didn't have a father figure to train him so he poured his trauma on us . Sometimes our parents can only teach us what they know . plus the Nigerian hustle and bustle can lay that major league trauma on you too . Sometimes I feel like we need to ask our parents on how they were raised as that can give us an insight as to how they have their current behavior.
Well said about finding out about how our parents were raised. I learnt more about my mother when she drops some info from her childhood, which she never let go. As for my father, his family....my heart breaks for him. If only he came from a more loving family, who knows how far he could have gone, if he wouldn't have given up on life? At some point we have to end the cycle and surpass our parents and childhood.
@@2EKgn16 Yessir ..I think that is where we can find forgiveness if we understand how our parents were raised, then it becomes easy to deal with truama provided that we understand where they bought that perspective from and how that affects us. . Everything is perspective, the question is who instill that perspective in them and they in turn instill it in us on a subconscious level during our formative years? It's a deep fam . I realized my father never met his dad and that’s when I forgave every bad thing that he did to me . I quickly realized that he didn't know any better. He was just operating off the software installed on to his operating system by his mum because he never met his dad as he had passed before he was born, so he only just passed the information that he gathered along the way and passed it on to us . Hence why I need to go for therapy , and question everything I was taught by my parents and unlearn and relearn new information by being a parent to myself with the new information that I know now. That way, when I have my own child, I'll install verifiable tested information on my children .
@@2EKgn16 WoW Yup, we have to end the cycle by any means necessary for our selves and for the next generation and leave infomation for them that they can carry to the next generation.
best episode on the internet 👏 the knowledge from Mr Epps.. Kane and the OG from indina..the whole team chemistry is invaluable to power of this message.. keep up the great work
This is the 1 yall very educating gems for our black males to absorb very enlightening and uplifting for me personally and to carry on ,R.I.P. to my Father and all the other Fathers and Black men period!
Very huge jewels dropped over here. I love that it wasn't all about money, and tokens with life in the convo. It transitioned into Brothers speaking about real issues that our communities are going through with our fathers and how to give the game to our youth by bridging the gap. It got to the point that I didn't even look as these brothers for their entertainment fame, but for the jewels as a brother in the wilderness of America. I loved every second of wisdom and understanding in the sound travel. Real talk up and down with real attention to the subjects. This might be one of my favorite episodes . Big ups Math and the whole team much respect because I had to deal with a lot of what was spoken as a youth. DOPENESSS #mathhoffa #bigdaddykane #omarepps #esso #myexpertopinion
One of the most important 👏 episodes that aired. Hoffa has to be in the talks of amazing journalists when it comes to converting rap into life influences. The world needs to be introduced introduced to men of color speaking with integrity. Proud sub member.
I normally don't comment on shit but this episode is real grown man talk. One of the most honest podcasts i have ever heard.Too many gems. Salut to Math and Omar Epps. I supporting this podcast and buying Omar's book
Wow! I have watched this episode twice already and working on my third because I am now moving onto having family and friends look at it as well... it took me awhile to say something because each time my soul is so full that I wanted to make sure I said the right words. Honestly TH-cam doesn't have a check big enough for what deserve brotha. I honestly watched this the time and immediately subscribed to ur channel. To see black men and women coming together in positivity, showing and giving the game on history and building generational wealth, facing fears, family love and struggles, cultural issues, etc. Too MATH and your team thank you so much for creating this space because I am just getting here and not one time have I watched an episode and my soul has not been fed🥲. Please continue to do what you doing we need you out here... God Bless 👑
This is by far my favorite interview. Wisdom and history… nothing but facts. I met Floyd Mayweather’s cousin, Suzette, in Louisiana at a talent show in BR.
This is definitely my favorite podcast so much history and knowledge about everything on this show i stay watching this show and it's hard for me to watch something for 2 to 3 hours It doesn't even seem that long 🙏🏽🙏🏽💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 BIG HOFFA

Omar had to go through those emotions.

@@2EKgn16 WoW Yup, we have to end the cycle by any means necessary for our selves and for the next generation and leave infomation for them that they can carry to the next generation.

the great work
This is the 1 yall very educating gems for our black males to absorb very enlightening and uplifting for me personally and to carry on ,R.I.P. to my Father and all the other Fathers and Black men period!
I love this. Peace to Omar and the Big Daddy Kane from Red Hook Projects!
OMG, I had goosebumps listening to this whole entire show
One of the most important 👏 episodes that aired. Hoffa has to be in the talks of amazing journalists when it comes to converting rap into life influences. The world needs to be introduced introduced to men of color speaking with integrity. Proud sub member.
