King of Dragons has a pretty cool ruleset... very similar to Karate Combat (KC has 5sec ground & pound, whereas KOD has 10sec), primarily striking (KC does not allow elbows and knees, whereas KOD does). I would love to see these types of rules get adopted by international promotions like ONE.

Watching the video from the KOD channel, it says the guy is MMA not Muay Thai. Also please do translate the commentary and interviews, heard some interesting words( Bagua, Tai Chi) Watching the fight, I saw the MMA guy do more "kung fu"/ "karate" moves then the kyokushin guy. On 9:00 of the original video they show the MMA guy actually doing something like Tai Chi/ Wing Chun. I'm not saying he does kung fu, but just something interesting to think about, I.e Kung Fu is in MMA but it's hard to see?

Since the defeat of Kyokushin against Muay thai in 1960, and Kyokushin has been adopting Muay thai techniques into theirs. It seems like there is still so much room to improve for Kyokushin. But i get it. Kyokushin dowsnt want to look 100% like Muay thai, more than already is 😅

He's actually from a mma school that incorporates tai chi/ Ba gua in it's program. The takedown at 1:36 shows it. See the comment from "tai ci kuo' in his next fight against the misy thai fighter who beat qi la la. Tai chi kuo is personal friend of his. Qi la la wod only be losing to another kungfu guy.

You know I'm not positive but I have heard that a yellow belt in his style is actually more like a purple or brown belt in BJJ. rather than the way it is where it's basically the first stripe white built in BJJ is a yellow belt in karate.

the muay thai fighter has a more dynamic base, so he excelled against the kyokushin fighter besides the more has more experience in combat, in the first moment he took to the ground meaning he took to the ground ie he is good at fighting standing and can go to the ground without problem, this channel promoting fights is better than espn, fox sport, here in brazil.

@@charlesbetancourt7337 none of that, the fighting stance is that of a boxer, it has nothing to do with tai chi or baguá, nothing to do, and according to muay thai, he developed over time fighting positions in which he was more comfortable fighting. This thing of saying that it is Kung Fu stance is just to say that small talk is effective.

@@canaldesugestoesa6651 Please see the comments from silly vanus and tai chi kuo who is a personal friend of his. The stance is also a half kneeling stance from both kungfu and tai chi. Notice how he's not bouncing on the balls of his feet. Also at 3:20 in his fight against the muay thai fighter who beat qi la la, you will notice: ziz zag stepping, slide stepping, double dragon strike, waist supple like a snake, and mill hands. 'Silly Vanus' has stated that in his interview tai chi and bagua were mentioned. I've been into chinese martial arts over 30 years. My perception is better than that of those who depend on the movie screen to see what is kungfu.

i would like to know what would have happened in an kickboxing type of rule set, sice kyokushin doesn´t have clinching, elbows or groundwork,so the muay thai guy had some advantages
also the kyokushin doesn´t have a high belt so he wasn´t that experienced
i did kyokushin for a long time, but i´ve been training muay thai, kickboxing and boxing for almost a year now

I found plenty of what this muay thai guy did very reminiscent of wing chun. A lot of his moves resembled wing chun trapping and intercepting. I guess the two martial arts have plenty in common.
