Please have this car as an asset of your family. When I studied at R.K.M. Vaidyeshwara Vidyalayam I saw it personally as a friend of my young days. The late Mr. Chelliah was a famous mechanic and the owner of the LOTUS GARAGE in those days and this car was a beauty queen among the then time latest cars because Mr . Chellia's son Thankavel was my best friend and classmate. We spent our lunch hour break loitering around those cars of those days. Theirs was a prestegious family from Chankanai and my friend was very proud about this car and their Murphy radio. He took me to every nook and corner of his house and garage Especially I wondered about the pistons which lifted the cars for overhauling because they were an ultra-modern facility in the garages of those days. Your mentioning of those days of 1954 to 1964 and the Old Crocks Rally by the Lake house Newspapers arouses many reminiscences in me at this age of 72. I never expected the survival of this vehicle after so many years like a childhood friend even after a long war.in north. You can be proud of our past with this car. You resemble your father and have reminded me the people and the surroundings of the junction.

The look of this car reminds me of Austin six or Austin seven models owned by one of my relatives in the 1950s.
I think they had canvas tops. The Austin
Eight and the Ten had metal hoods. The six and seven models had brass starting
Handles fixed.Other models had long
Removable starting handles plus self starter.
