Love this idea to keep a list of future mods vs diving right in. I’ve spent SO much time impulsively modding a deck then realizing it wasn’t really worth the effort after all. Hearing you talk through your thought process on these decks is incredibly helpful.
Haha same! I try to give it more thoughts these days, but I sometimes still just grab and deck and go without a plan. 🥰
The edging on the Witches Kitchen cards is foil (like hot foil) which is applied as a film which is why it can be pokey and rough. Painted edges which, as the name suggests, is painted and can be a metallic but is softer and less pokey on your hands.
Ooh that’s good to know! Thank you. 🥰
Thank you for the video❤❤
I use a fine grit little sanding block (light pressure) to take that terrible guilding off decks. It works very well especially when the art goes all the way to the edge and trimming is not ideal…. Sanding is the way to go for me! Love your deck mods!!
I haven’t tried that method yet, but I might give it a shot some day! 🥰
White Light Oracle is an interesting music album by Alana Fairchild on Spotify. I don't have the deck (although I love the artwork I don't always get along with Fairchilds writing) but I think the music is the best medium for me.
Oh interesting, I’ll have to check that out! 🥰
I need to trim my Oak, Ash, and Thorne due to me also having small hands. It is a bear to shuffle.
I've missed your mod videos! Loved this! I'm most curious about how you will mod the white light oracle. I have that one and love the guidebook.
I’ve kinda missed mod videos too, might have to do an old fashioned mod with me soon! 🥰
Thank you for speaking the truth about Big Gilding 😂 I don't like it either.
I just don’t get the appeal 😁
All of your decks are beautiful. I love all of your mods too!
Aw thank you so much! 🥰
Thanks for this video. I do the same for the same reason, mainly to have the cards fit in my hands so that I connect better with them. Unfortunately I cannot do it to each deck. So I have to manage but I've trimmed quite a few and with scissors. Took a lot of patience & attention. I will be buy a cutter like yours. Again thanks for this video.
I’m so glad you found it helpful! I love the trimmer, it works great for me. 🥰
I love your videos but would really like to know when you trim a deck like the Fairy Lights Tarot - how do you read it? I love the look but I am afraid it wont make sense ( might be a dumb question sorry!) THANK YOU
Never a dumb question! 🥰 I read with it more intuitively usually, letting the pictures tell me their story. If I happen to catch the tarot association I’ll pull that in, but if not, it reads like an oracle at that point.
The tombow 991 on the Bee Tarot is absolute perfection! I might need to do this too!
I do love how that one turned out. 🥰
Oooooo now I want to edge my Diablo Tarot....
It looks amazing edged! 🥰
Did it ever happend to you that you didn´t like how the edging of a deck ended up? :o What do you do then?
I just edged a deck and I dont like how it came out :(. I never shortend/cut a deck so i am very scared to do so because i REALLY love the deck.
What should i do?
Generally if I used a color and I don’t like it I’d just redo it in a darker color and try to cover it up. Sometimes doing stamp over the top covers better than marker. Occasionally I’ve micro-trimmed the edges off and done it again. It doesn’t happen to much anymore, but on occasion! 🥰
White Light Oracle seems a little like Soul Cards to me. The images are compelling, but I would have the same issue with the keywords not meaning anything. I have both Soul Cards, so I don't need it.
I could totally see it being similar to those!
Honestly, I could watch you mod decks for hours, it's so relaxing!! I really hope you film more unless it's unenjoyable of course.
Aw I’m so glad to hear that! I was just thinking it was about time to do an old fashioned mod with me video! 🥰
Wow, the plant deck seeems great!!! The ladder thing actually made immediate sense to me! It's like the ladder of evolution or from shadow to light, or increasing energy.... a single candle, a bit of light and warmth and hope - a torch to see a bit more and farther and find ways, but still very restricted and oblivious to what's going on outside the direction of the light stream- a round oil lamp, combining the radiant circle of the candle with the farer reach of the torch, but still restricted - and lastly the sun, the ultimate light and energy source. No idea if that's what St John's wort symbolising or what the rest of the guidebook entry are about, so I might be totally wrong 😅.
Also, I like your mods, especially your colour choices for edging. Personally, I found out I'm not enjoying the modding process, so I avoid doing it.
I have to be in the mood for modding these days, it’s alot of work! 🥰
I love the Dirt Gems so much. I use it to see what herb energy I need for the day and I love the take on them in the guild book because it is so different than any other plant deck. I've also thought about buying the MM and getting watercolor pens to color in the black and white cards.🤷🏻♀
I’m still finding my way with that one, but I love the art! 🥰
@@DawnMichelleTarot I hope you do. ☺ I forgot to mention that after I ask what herb energy will benefit me for the day(you can even do one for the week or the month) I then pull two tarot cards for more info on the herb energy. It's been really helpful. 🤷🏻♀💓
You sound so excited about the Witches decks, it makes sense to mod them. You've got plans for using them and seem to really want to use them. With the other 2 decks, I don't think it's worth going to the effort of modding them, for you. You're not excited enough about using them to make it worth the effort. That's what it seems like to me.
Yeah those are definitely top on my list! I can’t wait to trim those. 🥰
