it's very accepted in some places, disgusting.
The age difference is already bad enough. The fact that she's still underage makes it worse. But it get's even worse still when you think about the sentences. "I've known you all your life" and "He liked you for truly a long time". Even if we assume "a long time" means something like 3 years, then he was a 36-year-old fantasizing about a 14-year-old girl he basically knew since she was born. That's just vile.
I hope the person who kept saying "Please please don't hate me" is alright now whereever they are. It sounds like they've been through some toxic sh*t

I think you can apologise like once, because you cannot see via text if you are really sick. This makes you seem more honest. If he doesn't understand after the first time or doesn't want to understand, you should leave him. This also goes the other way round

I thought that, but their mothers know each other so it’s plausible his crazy mother contacted her. One of my worst ‘nice guy’ interactions was with a bloke who asked me on a date. I made it very clear to him that I’m a lesbian. He then went on a rant about how I wasn’t a lesbian at all, that I just hadn’t met a ‘good guy’. He made a lot of assumptions about trauma in my life (because women are only gay as a result of trauma 🙄). He just wouldn’t have no for an answer. He went one step further and outed me. Such a nice guy…I think he’s in prison now for DV or something similar

My friend dated an older guy when we were about 19/20. She thought he would treat her better because he was more mature. They went on a holiday together and she got salmonella from the food. She is rarely *ever* sick (she's 48 now so I know!) but this was a horrific bout and she probably should have gone to the hospital but they were far from anywhere and he told her she was over-reacting and "ruining my holiday". He treated her as if she did it on purpose and was rude to her for the whole holiday. She literally lost about a stone (14lbs) in 2 weeks of hell. She broke up with him as soon as she got home and bonus, looked fab in her new skinny jeans ;)

The sick girl had a lucky escape. It is sad to see, with so much more understood now about human psychology, mental health and basic human rights, that the sense of entitlement and presumed superiority in a lot of guys is no different to what it was in the 1970s.
I left my number with a Primark security guard after loosing my purse in store. He kept texting me "u up?" Messages for the next 3 years and I never responded even once. I reported it the first time and he was fired. He even sent me a "hey, just to let you know I've moved jobs to X"
The first year i didnt block because i was young and it was funny to tell friends about it. After that it was sparatic and i always forgot about it after. On the third year mark a message came out of nowhere after nearly 9 months of silence and i forgot who it even was - once i confirmed i blocked
Geez at that guy who had his hang-out canceled. She clearly did want to meet him and got sick, but he made an absolute ass of himself. I've had dates canceled with way less ceremony, after I'd already driven an hour out of my way - it just happens sometimes. It's not worth making such a big deal of it.
The good news is, he showed his true colors, and hopefully she realized and cut things off with him altogether. I'm worried she didn't, given the profuse apologies and "don't hate me" stuff it seems like she's got a tendency to let assholes makes her feel guilty. But the fact these messages got posted hopefully means she realized the guy wasn't worth her time or energy.

My sister's mother in law was chatting with my mom when I was around 19, i dont remember how the topic came up but they ended up talking about me and my mother mention I was single and my sister's MIL suggested I should date one of her sons, said son was in his 40's divorced multiple times and had kids from different women. Holy shit, "liked you for a very long time" is so disturbing. Dude, it's not even legal already, but this is an attraction for a "very long time?" It wouldn't matter if he was Benjamin Button and looked 5 y/o, he's still a grown ass man asking out a minor, and then bitching to his mommy to fight his battles because he was rejected by someone he's legally not allowed to be with!
