That story about the 7 kids was wonderful honestly. I feel bad for the nanny/OP since they got hurt doing their malicious compliance but inevitably the mom learned her lesson and now she’s better for it, because if OP hadn’t maliciously complied then the mom would’ve had one of those spoiled undisciplined teenagers who she wouldn’t be able to control and I bet she might’ve even wondered what went wrong for her kid to be like that.
That second story is CRAZY. That would’ve been a crazy story to tell their friends lmao

Lol, my dad told me for YEARS that my older brother (by 3 years) would never hit me again if I hit him JUST ONCE as hard as I could! I would never have to hit him again if I did that.
When I was 14, I finally decided to go it. He was hitting me so I hauled off and hit him as hard as I could. He pummelled me worse than usual (crying would usually get him to stop after 3-5 hits).
When I saw my dad 10 minutes later, I told him he was a liar! He asked what he lied about. I reminded him that he said if I ever hit my brother as hard as I could JUST ONCE, he would never hit me again. Well, I did that and he beat the cr@p out of me. Dad said, "Well, you should have known that you would have to back it up with more hits." I argued that he said JUST ONCE. I didn't want to hurt my brother!
Later, he talked to my brother. My brother admitted that he never thought I could hurt him, but it REALLY hurt!
It did make my brother feel better for the next year when he went into the military after high school.
He needed to know I could defend myself ... and protect our little brother and baby sisters.
Story 2: the child isn’t a devil. He was badly let down by parents who taught him that behaviour was the way to get what he wanted when he wanted it.

Thank goodness she ended up with someone like OP as the Nanny! Since the oldest is 14yrs old she obviously never had anybody teach her that she was wrong.

He's a child not his fault. Blame the parents for allowing him and teaching him to be like that. If he was taught from the beginning and paid attention to this wouldn't happen. My heart breaks for the poor child. He's going to have a tough life.

no, if you notice your kid is acting out at such a young age, you should listen to them and help them understand and regulate their emotions (not just in the moment they experience them, but before aswell) instead of making them feel like they have to go through it alone. tantrums and acting out isnt "devilish", its a cry for help and attention.

In the second story, she should've just told me no too cause she didn't have anything to prove to anybody. In the third story, the nanny should just quit the job. @@Iuvm1aExactly! My parents were my friends but also could discipline when needed. No reason you can't be both. I knew I could come to them with anything. And now my mom takes care of me because I have 3 cancers and am in a wheelchair. I wouldn't have survived without her or my dad. No reason you can't be a parent and a friend.
