I don't know, kinda had them on their heels.
Maybe but that handball should have been a Red card. Don’t forget Germany should have been down to 10 players.
VAR would've made this game interesting... A second half penalty for the USA and Germany down to 10 men.
It wouldn't have been a red card though, it wasn't an intentional handball
Harry Kewell got a red for an accidental handball against Ghana in 2010
@@MrBen51309 I dont support that decision. Its beyond ridiculous
Fair enough
2022 will match that & beyond…
I'm hoping Pulisic will have the same impact in the 2018 WC like Donovan did in the 2002 WC.
chataolauj Maybe we can only hope, however even if he does our defense still isn't good enough.
it will be for 2022
Hes gona have to wait
chataolauj nope
Nope
Best USA squad we ever had just think if ref saw that handball…
If the VAR was at this world cup
Kung Lao if it was US would’ve won this game and gone to the semifinals
@@Futurefoundationspider I didn't know that a penalty automatically implied a victory for the benefiting team
This was the strongest US team in history 😮👏👏👏
USA Vs Oliver Khan
USA 2002 was magnificent. They were unlucky t b out of the tournament
4 years later frings got karma punished for that handball when they suspended him for the semifinal, after he participated in a brawl with argentinian players which argentina started hahaha
They were really unlucky against Germany. South Korea was lucky against Spain. It really could be the winner of Spain v US in the final against Brazil.
VAR would have given a goal to the US and penalty to the German defender.
While Kahn and Ballack even Klose were considered the best players of all time, i am also respect to US players of 2002 WC having played all matches with more effective than ever before thanks to Reyna, Friedel, and Donovan to lesser extent McBride.
Karma got Michael Ballack on that Chelsea vs Barcelona game where they didn't give Chelsea the PK for the handball inside the area 😂
If USA would’ve won this they probably would’ve made the final because they would definitely have the edge over South Korea in the next game.
hahahah

@@Evenflow-us1py im Argentine fella hahah. Sorry your concacaf score line doesn't work. Keep watching subpar teams playing for a dinky Gold cup 😂😂😂
@@Evenflow-us1py people like you are sad you can't even come up with something better to say hahaha that's sooo pathetic
USA tenía un equipaso en ese mundial, recuerdo partido lo jugó excelente mucho mejor que Alemania, pero la suerte no estuvo de su lado
Final was E.U vs Brasil...
Nah the semifinal would be USA vs South Korea, with all the corruption in that WC the final would be Brazil vs South Korea
@Gav Truth Maybe in a clean match, but with all the corruption in 2002 WC I don't think so, South Korea with the help of the referee send Italy and Spain to home, and they are strongest teams than USA
Usa had a gread team but that final was Brazil and spain
1:13 Klose's goal did not enter so that he could take the lead in world cup scoring against the Brazilians (Ronaldo) in 2014
Lol that wasn’t a goal
WC var must penalty,handball
We were robbed we could’ve gone to the semifinals. Revenge was brought when the US won in home against Germany and away against Germany
when did you ever win against Germany in an important match lol
Runenstein US Open Cup we won them in German soil
Runenstein and Confederations Cup 1998 😂
Runenstein check the record
@@Futurefoundationspider confederations cup fair enough but that was before so not really a revenge for this Game and no idea tbh what the us Open cup is doesnt seem like a competition for national teams but rather american club soccer.
A Huge gap Of talents and experience between The Two Germany Could make Every Chance a goal !
Alemania siempre Alemania 🇩🇪❤️
Germany forever
At 1:42 you can tell it was a clear hand.
Beat Portugal 3-2
Just Lost to Germany 1-0
Now they can't even get a result against Trinidad and Tobago
We were robbed. It was a blatant handball and possibly a red card. What a joke. Not saying US would have won, but it should have at least gone to extra time, assuming we make the PK. Then, who knows what happens? Imagine if the US had made it to the semis, what that would have done for the impression of the US team on the world stage and back home. Kahn has some incredible saves, too. Germany really wasn't that amazing of a team at that time.
1:30 Why didn't USA receive a penalty kick, even though there was a German handball? Besides that, I don't think there was a goal for USA, it's impossible to see if the ball really passed the goal line, I don't think the ball did.
USA outplayed Germany on the day and had some great chances. Donovan was smoking the German back line all game. One thing though was Germanys powerful game in the air with Ballack (goal) and Klose (hitting the post) that the USA could not handle, even with the likes of Tony Sanneh and Eddie Pope. It would have been nice to have VAR back in those days, they would have awarded the USA with a PK, on the Torsten Frings handball. Who knows what would have happened after USA equalizes on a Donovan PK. OT? PKs? USA vs South Korea semi final. Rematch.
John I brien had one of best tourneys ive seen outta left back and Mathis baby!
Tremenda mano era del defensor alemán y no cobraron penal , una lastima para estados unidos , jugaron muy bien ese partido
