- Here is a real favorite early song of mine played on one of our Mira 18 1/2 inch Concert Grand console music boxes. From the year 1902, this is George Evans' beloved classic, "In The Good Old Summer Time". No matter what time of year it may be when I play this song it always seems to bring a smile to my face. A long time favorite recording to play on the phonographs in my collection, this version on the music box is currently the one I reach for most often. Roughly 90 seconds of wonderful music. It must have been magical to the people in those days. Records brought an end to that technology.
Records had been popular for a good while before this had been made, but this is way better quality
When I was a kid in the early 1960's, I had a black and white Teddy bear which had a music box inside it. As I grew older, I "operated" on him once, and removed the box which played exactly like this. It was a small, gold cylinder that made the music, and although my attempts at reconstructive surgery failed, it would still play whenever I wound it up!

This song will always take me back to my Grandparents house as a kid. My Grandfather had a Melody figurine of an Ice Cream Vendor that played this song as the Ice Cream Man cranked the handle. Nostalgia right here.

I love Music Boxes:). They were popular back in 1919, long before CDs. Music Boxes sound like innocence:). They are lovely to listen to and it would be nice if more stores sold music boxes with song plates (records?) of modern songs as well. Nice video:)

Mechanical music 🎵🎶 there's no substitute:)
Nowadays the tunes played by music-box are recorded and programmed in electronic circuit board of sound chips and connected to speaker and used as door bell. Even such an electronically programmed circuit board connected to speaker is iinstalled in some quartz clocks to mark the hours of the day.
