    1 1/2 minute into this video: Great use of a square tile floor as the grid pattern for the build, and I realize I have an engine lift with a similar hydraulic pump so I can make my own pipe bender. Great first minutes, now for the rest..... And I have to get a hinged glass on the welding hood to make stick welding easier, thanks!

    looks like a fun project to build thoe i have to say as somone who works as a welder and this is not beeing a know-it-all and hacking on you. its that the spotwelding that you are doing arent really good beacuse you really dont get a full fusion and its a high risk of getting inclusions of slag etc so it can break easier. from what it looks like you are running to high amp and guessing you dont want to burn through so thats why you are doing the spotwelding, if thats the case i would recommend that you go to a smaller rod like from a 3,2 to a 2,5 so you the amps will be lower and the chance of burning through is alot less, while you are running a continous weld and get a full fusion of the materials. hope this tip helps you beacuse it was intresting to watch you build this.

      If you are going to weld tube, get a mig welder. This will give better quality welds with less cleanup. Also focus on the mitre angle of the joints so they match correctly (rear lower bar to chassis side rails for example). When building a roll hoop, ensure it is higher than your head and that your head is not higher than a line between the top of the roll hoop and the steering column hoop. Also don’t make the hoop flat at the top as it is not as strong as a radius hoop. Shifter location is very bad. Put it beside your knee so that you don’t need to put your arm outside the chassis to change gears. Your hand should be able to drop from the steering wheel, straight down to the shifter. Fit a harness and wear a helmet.

    You should be very proud ! Well done ! This is so inspiring for people whor have no welding or mechanical skills. The way you simplified the build while maintaining quality and aesthetics is very smart.
    I would recommend placing the shift column closer to the steering wheel as I see in the video while driving it you have to reach back to shift which is not very comfortable.
    Also I have no experience with the front rotors, are those drum bakes activated with cables ? If yes, are they safe to use ?
    Congrats again on this build and I look forward to seeing more of your work. You got a new follower :D

      no vas a tener planos de chasis de coches, por que son obra de ingeniería. si encuentras planos son por que son malos o peligrosos. los buenos están bajo llave o bajo alto precio. la fabricación de este chasis deja que desear. esta hecho al tuntun donde cayo. en cambio te digo que busques. geometría de suspensión, repartos de pesos, para que trabajo quieres será una batalla y una distancia entre ejes determinada, potencia y frenos.

    • @CHERALAUTO
      @CHERALAUTO  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Thank you, Ewan, for your positive feedback! We're glad you enjoyed the build. Regarding the steering wheel, yes, we ensured that it was securely attached to the shaft using a pin for added stability and safety.
      As for the performance of the engine, we made some modifications to optimize its power output. These modifications, combined with the lightweight design of the vehicle, contribute to its impressive performance. We're pleased with the results we achieved and appreciate your recognition of our efforts.

      It's probably making around 9 or 10 bhp, 4 speed semi automatic Chinese Honda clone.
      Originally, with 17" wheels it would do around 55-60mph (around 45+ years ago my brother has a Honda S90 with 9bhp that did a little over 70mph)
      With smaller diameter wheels the gearing is lower so probably good for about 25-35 mph but being that close to the ground feels a lot faster.
      The engine was never designed for 'performance' but to keep going with minimal maintenance which is why I said it only has 9-10 bhp from 150cc, (although it could be less?) similar output to a 1965-69 Honda S90.
      I'm not bothered to look up what China claims for the 150 motor so just making educated guess.
      It doesn't have enough cooling to get a higher output and would seize, particularly as I don't see any ducting to get airflow behind seat

    Compared to the blue roadster, this orange roadster is more difficult to make. We need bending machines. The round tubes need to be cut in a special way to join to each other and to rectangular tubes.
    Your projects are fun but not yet practical. It cannot be used in the rain or hot sun. You should consider adding roofs to your car. The off-road version is a good idea.
    Use acrylic for the roof. You can have a transparent car. Coat the inside with tints that block infra red. Acrylic blocks more heat than glass.
    Acrylic is cheaper than glass but 12 times less resistant to breakage while as rigid and transparent as glass.
    You can install the universal wiper used in UTV.

    • @CHERALAUTO
      @CHERALAUTO  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you, Othman Ahmad, for sharing your thoughts and suggestions. We appreciate your feedback on our orange roadster project. You raise some valid points regarding the challenges in the construction process, especially when it comes to joining round tubes with rectangular tubes and the need for bending machines.
      Regarding the practicality of our projects, we understand your concerns about the car's usability in different weather conditions. We are continuously exploring ways to improve the functionality of our designs. Your suggestion of adding roofs, particularly using acrylic material, is intriguing. Acrylic offers transparency and can be coated to block infrared rays, providing better heat insulation compared to glass. We will certainly consider this option in future projects to enhance comfort and versatility.
      Furthermore, your suggestion of installing a universal wiper used in UTVs is a practical idea to improve visibility during rain or adverse weather conditions. We will take this into account for our upcoming designs.
      We appreciate your input and strive to create projects that are both enjoyable and practical. Your suggestions contribute to our ongoing development, and we thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.

      @CHERALAUTO  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hola José Ferney Sánchez Ramírez,
      Gracias por tu interés en mis videos. Respondiendo a tus preguntas, el motor que instalo en mis vehículos es de motocicleta y tiene un cilindraje de 150 CC. En cuanto al peso aproximado del chasis que armo antes de montar el motor, suele ser alrededor de 30 kg.
      Recuerda que estos valores pueden variar dependiendo del diseño específico y los materiales utilizados en la construcción del chasis. Si estás considerando construir tu propio vehículo, te recomendaría realizar cálculos detallados y asegurarte de seguir las especificaciones y estándares de seguridad adecuados.
      Espero que esta información sea útil. Si tienes más preguntas, no dudes en hacerlas. ¡Buena suerte con tu proyecto!

    1) No means to tension the chain
    2) rear axle is going to bend when this thing goes offroad, no support. They are not designed to support weight.
    3) Steering wheel is going to come loose and start slipping, no splines.
    Obviously this is not meant to last very long, or i'd have used bushings in all the pivot points.

Also there are at least 20 years of motorcycle motors that would be better suited for this build. Curious why you went with an over sized lawnmower motor?

      @CHERALAUTO  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, Abas jabr! The roadster was designed for road use, so it may not be the best option for rough terrain. However, with the right modifications, it could potentially handle some light off-road use.

    You better beef, make stronger, the rear suspension if your going go high speed. It looks like it needs thicker tubes and will last longer.

    After so many years building cars, now is the time to think of safety. Install a safety belt. Brake and signal lights. A horn will be nice. A waterproof box like the blue roadster would be desirable.

    • @CHERALAUTO
      @CHERALAUTO  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you once again, Othman Ahmad, for your valuable input and suggestions. We completely agree with you that safety features are of utmost importance in any vehicle, including our homemade roadsters.
      Installing safety belts is indeed a crucial step to ensure the well-being of the driver and passengers. Additionally, integrating brake and signal lights will enhance the visibility of the vehicle, improving safety on the road. We will also consider adding a horn to our future designs for better communication with other drivers.
      Regarding the waterproof box, as you mentioned in reference to the blue roadster, it is an excellent suggestion. Such a box can protect valuable items or electronics from water damage, making the vehicle more practical and versatile.
      Your feedback regarding safety measures is highly appreciated, and we will prioritize these aspects in our upcoming projects. We strive to create not only visually appealing and unique vehicles but also ones that prioritize the safety and comfort of the occupants.
      Thank you for your continued support and valuable suggestions.

    Would be nice to see what it can actually do, rather see it running with the video sped up. I suspect that engine size is going to be pretty much kids' go-kart level of performance though.

    • @CHERALAUTO
      @CHERALAUTO  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment, Weasel's World! We understand your curiosity about the performance of the orange roadster. While the video may have shown a sped-up version of the build process, it's important to note that the focus was on showcasing the construction and design aspects. The engine size of the roadster may indeed be smaller compared to high-performance vehicles, as it is designed for a specific purpose or target audience. However, the roadster can still provide an enjoyable and unique driving experience. We appreciate your feedback and will keep it in mind for future videos.

    How fast does it go on flat ground?

    • @CHERALAUTO
      @CHERALAUTO  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello White Lightning! On flat ground, our roadster can reach a top speed of approximately 60 mph (96 km/h). However, please keep in mind that the actual speed may vary depending on various factors such as terrain conditions and the weight of the driver. We always prioritize safety, so it's important to drive responsibly and within legal speed limits. Thank you for your interest!
