  • This railfanning day had a nice special event reserved for me that came somewhat unexpected, but watch it yourself :) As in most other videos on this channel, a variety of trains on the CSX Abbeville sub is also featured in this one: manifests Q614-18, L619-19, Q676-18, and Q616-19, autorack train Q210-18, intermodal Q194-19, and two absolutely cool locals: A950-18 with a Canadian Pacific leader and an AC6000CW CSX engine trailing and A751-19 performing a reverse move. Enjoy! [© 2016 MBMARS Productions. Exclusive rights for TH-cam channel "mbmars01" only.]

    Nice, when a train crew member knows you and gives a big thumbs up.

      Yes, it was very nice. I had the chance to help him a couple weeks earlier (see the "Explosive Train ..." video).

    Excellent! Nice that he remembered you.
    By now most of the regular crews should know you, as much time as you spend, recording their trains.

      @mbmars01  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, that was really nice. I'm sure some know me by now, but there's is rarely any way of communicating with each other. I also try to avoid interfering with their work by doing mine.

    A bit startling to see that car coming first! I think this is one of your best night videos. Sometimes it's hard to see much.

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, nights are dark - at least in most places on this planet ;) Seriously, I normally avoid doing night filming, but when there are good lights nearby I try it.

    Another good one. Nice to have friends in 'high places'! Those night shoots were particularly good on this occasion. That A&NR box-car was a long way from home, don't you think. TTFN

    Thanks for the video. I liked your chase scene at night well done. I also enjoy knowing where the train is from and where it is heading thanks for including the info. I appreciate your work

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching. I was also satisfied with how the night scenes came out. It's always an all-or-nothing game . While shooting you never know whether or not it was worth it.

      Thank you! The CP was a nice surprise. It is unusual to see a foreign unit lead a local train here.

      Thank you. CP is a rare catch here in our area. This unit was actually the main reason to go out railfanning again in the evening. Unfortunately it got already dark when he showed up.

      For some reason a lot of the CSX ES40DCs don't have the nice tuned K5HLs like 5331

    NICE! Why do you keep getting the good stuff? LOL! And since when are there 2 DPU's on the same train? Excellent. Keep it up!

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, I think you got fooled by missing the transition between Q616 (which had a DPU in the middle) and the following train A751, which was going in reverse :). Thank you. I'll keep it up as long as railfans like you keep watching the videos.

    Couple of questions, how do you know the train numbers? What kind of scanner do you use? Why is there so much hostility between train crews and rail fans? Love your videos! I like to hangout at the Folkston Funnel. Nice double mainline.

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know the train numbers in most cases from signal calls on the road channel. Sometimes I also learn from other railfans that a particularly interesting train is on the line. I use the Uniden BC125AT scanner. I have never experienced any hostility. Just the opposite, crews are very friendly here. Folkston is great (there are two videos on my channel). I just wish it would be closer to where I live.

    on 19:00 That locomotve only has two digit number?

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      CSX uses numbers with one to four digits. The engine with the smallest number I have ever seen was #2 I think.
