Border View Farms is a mid-sized family farm that sits on the Ohio-Michigan border. My name is Nathan. I make and edit all of the videos posted here. I farm with my dad, Mark and uncle, Phil. Our part-time employee, Brock, also helps with the filming. 1980 was our first year in Waldron where our main farm is now. Since then we have grown the operation from just a couple hundred acres to over 3,000. Watch my 500th video for a history of our farm I filmed with my dad.
I started making these videos in the fall of 2019 as a way to help show what I do on a daily basis as a farmer. Agriculture is different from any other industry and I believe the more people that are showing their small piece of agriculture, helps to build our story. We face unique challenges and stressful situations but have some of the most rewarding payoffs in the end. I get to spend everyday doing what I love, raising my kids on the farm, and trying to push our farm to be better every year. I hope that I can address questions or concerns that you might have about farms and agriculture.

I used Honda Spray Polish on my windshields and then the California duster after that worked great. We have hard water so I used the Honda polish to get the water spots off the windshield after washing

Simple science would say bigger beans mean bigger yields. Harvested close to 200 acres down by Defiance Ohio, have not cut a bean below 50 and this heavy, heavy clay ground.

X series cameras don’t fit S series. Different cameras. We are all waiting 😢 all S & X series here in Australia don’t have the cameras. You can put the machine nudges on your joystick. Don’t need to change screens then.👌🏼

Your cameras are in all the brand new combines. Model 22’s. Slap a 75 years sticker on the side and they have cameras... kinda shows JD is more interested in new customers, rather than current. Thanks for the video.

Do you drag a chain on the bottom of your combine do reduce static charge? Great to see the new machines in action again!
If the static charge builds up does it give a person a static shock when they get in or out of the combine?

To check the weight accuracy of combine & cart, should you not stop, transfer load without adding more beans to the combine?
I did stop and unload on the end.
They only person missing out on the sweet harvest gear is Phil, hopefully your able to find a new(er) truck soon

I've been watching you for a couple of years now Nathan. Typically, when you start addressing something a few times....like wanting a tracked tractor, or a drill for wheat, you end up with it. So, question is, do you already have the air bar ordered, or are you waiting to put it on as a winter project?

Do you ever have connection issues with Machine Sync? Any time you think it should be connected when it isn't or slow to connect? Some users (depending on use cases and follower approach paths) do at times. If so, I have something you could try.
We have not used it a lot yet but haven't had any issues yet.

wouldn't that TOTALLY depend on if your HARVESTER is ''running near MAX HP'' during NORMAL OPERATION CONDITIONS FOR **YOUR** FARM!!???
in my head I would want one runnin at 60% power in crappy amounts conditions and 75-85% of MAX ''short TERM overdrive conditions'' BOOST MODE or wutever the GIMMIK is... boosts to 110% power for 5 mins if REQUIRED by conditions, weeds and green patches come to mind for some reason...
BUT *I* would TRY NOT TO buy any machine other than RACING EQUIPMENT where the engine an systems need to be running at 102% ALL THE TIME :) ((would try NOT to... I want BIG HEAT FINS and loppin along in OVERDRIVE is my modius operandie.... ;) rather than running 12000 rpm with stuff about to FLY APART.... like an airplane engine, ROTAX, the fast ones that almost sound like ya in a dentist chair!!! )) ...wait was that rite? eh... full sending THRUSDAY anyhow...
