I really love the pacing of your videos like this. They really serve me well as a relaxing break from all the tarmac and concrete, dense housing, roads, cars, noise, light pollution, air pollution, stress and stressed-out people. This was 19 minutes of bliss for me! Just wanted to say thanks for that. My dream would be to retire to a modest smallholding, where everything is all mine, and I don't owe anybody anything. Far, far away from cities and towns, with real silence, clean air and dark skies. Just the wife and me, a dog or two, and probably a decent amount of geese!
You gotta a great dream. Doable. We had the same dream and two years ago finally pulled the trigger and got this 90 acre paradise. We're far enough away to be secluded but only 20-30 mins to a city in case we need something like hospitals or an airport. Thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoyed. Plenty more blissful videos for u lol.
A simple little spray bottle goes a long way in teaching cats what's not allowed. As much as those four love you, I think it wouldn't take long at all. I've never ever had a countertop walker my whole life, bc I've always used a spray bottle when they're young. After just a few times getting squirted, all you have to do is shake the bottle and they all straighten up instantly. 😂 Probably associating it with a word would allow you to phase out the spray bottle entirely. Your idea to integrate the geese and the orchard I think is fantastic. Very symbiotic relationship.
Just being curious. Is there any particular reason why Molly and the barn cats aren't allowed to run free and climbing up on everything. They always have to be in your sights. Is it because there's a lot of predators on the property?
Well it being 90 acres, I only want Molly to roam around the immediate farm area. It’s way to big for her to go up into the woods alone plus we abut the Simcoe county forest so there’s nothing stopping her from wanders further. There are a lot of coyote around and occasionally bear, but I’d still want to know where she is most of the time. Cats are a different story but mainly I just worry about them. Hard to recall what has happened up to this video but lots more to come about them.
I've had chicken saddles on order now for a while maybe when I finally get them we can fit them on a duck and see how they need to be modified. My Darlin does have a Singer I'm sure she could do it with the proper template. Thanks Lee.
I love this video. It is so much to watch and learn.
Right on!

The Mistress of Gold Shaw Farm makes her own for all the chickens. Take a look. Perhaps Darling could make them for the ducks.

@@HiddenSpringFarm , I'm sure she could modify them and make them fit. BTW, loving your Claw Crew.
Geese are dominant. Geese are great . But just not good living in that house together. After they move problem will be solved .
Yes Evelyn I got 3 duck eggs the very next day. Goose house build in the spring.
Can you get a chicken saddle on the duck. ?
I'm still waiting for my saddles so I haven't tried yet. Another viewer says they need to be a different shape, but the same concept and they work.
