It's the best two-face creation moment. The fact that he fell on his left side and the gas covered the left side of his face made it very believable that would catch on fire and disfigure him only on the left side.

I always thought the most intriguing angle nobody has ever taken yet; is a Two-Face with self-inflicted scarring. The multiple personalities could be played up a lot more, and it would allow for practical effects to be used in a movie more convincingly
It hasn't been done in the movies yet but it has been depicted several times in the comics. Originally he would get cured at the end of stories only to get scarred again so he would appear in the next one.
Look for the short story Two of a Kind and the ending of his debut story.
I prefer it if his scars were inflicted by outside forces (The Dark Knight and The Long Halloween for examples). I think it makes his story more tragic, since he was a legitimate good person who wanted to save Gotham from crime the legal way.
In fact, in the comic "The eye of the beholder" (if I remember correctly) Harvey has plastic surgery, but a few days later he scratches himself, causing the damage to be irreparable.
In Batman Telltale, did you all notice that all of the characters has a damage in their left/ half side. Batman, Catwoman, the main villain with the bird head: his eye glass is half broken in left. One of the villain's gangs got batarang in his left eye. Also Harvey Dent with his left face.

The animated series and "The Dark Knight" are my all-time favorite transformations of Two-Face. I feel like having an explosion burn half his face helps make his origin more impactful with trauma. A near death experience basically.

That is actually in the comic source material. In Two-Face's first appearance Batman was present as a witness against Sal Maroni. The Long Halloween also played homage to it by having Bruce there in disguise. So it is very much in line with the material to have Batman in court when Harvey was scarred.
I think the Two-Face transformation that I think is really painful is the one in Batman Telltale series. That is the real Two-Face transformation. I still respect Tommy Lee Jones, and Aaron Eckhart that did their part as Harvey Dent aka Two-Face.

After being caught in the accident only his face was damaged and that is also true after the scene in the hospital. But in all appearances as Two-Face after that the hand is scarred. It is pretty good but it is not without its flaws.
You know, the idea of Batman just casually being in the jury while suddenly intervening Maroni's plot of poisoning Harvey is just so hilarious.

Who all agrees with me that Aaron Eckhart's performance as Harvey Dent was the best out of all (other were also good of course)
100%, even though the movie didn't show his comic origins, I still liked it more than Batman Forever which actually did portray the comic origins.
Fantastic for a one-off, which indeed was the entire point and executed beautifully, but I still prefer a more "comic-book" portrayal over realism, and in that vein TAS is my favorite.

The Telltale origin the most brutal. Not only is that hundreds of degree directly pressed up against Harvey's face, the the force of the blow from the light itself should damaged his skull in the least, if not caused brain injuries; and that's assuming it wouldn't have killed him.
Even worse, the concept artist for the game mentioned that he had the idea that the hit from the kleig light was so strong it basically CAVED HIS CHEEK IN. Ouch.
For real, Telltale nailed Dent's transformation, both in the physical disfiguring and the psychological spiraling afterwards. I appreciate how they don't have him become Two-Face immediately like so many versions, instead allowing for the stress of his traumatic injury to fester, compounded with other issues such as his underlying mental illness and the relationships with Bruce and Selina until he finally snaps.

Here's my question, has anyone EVER attempted to fix Harvey's face (and his mind) since the accident?
I know its a bit late but in the comics they have a few times but it never works permanently. For example in the dark knight returns they perform surgery so that his face looks completely normal however he's so insane that he thinks they disfigured his whole face and it completely erases the good persona
If you watch the dark knight returns animated film they do fix his face but in his mind they didn’t fix his face, they changed his face to be all bad. Pretty tragic story arch

I can tell the Animated Series scene took some inspiration from Joker’s transformation in Batman ‘89. Maybe vice versa since I don’t remember his original reveal in the comics minus the acid being thrown on him.
Any other media: Harvey has to go through hospitalization and looking himself in the mirror before slowly turning mad.

I was hoping that Billy Dee Williams would transition into Harvey Two-Face in the Tim Burton Batman movies. Still, Tommy Lee Jones from Batman Forever and Aaron Eckhart from The Dark Knight were good in their own right.

Still it makes me wonder why Billy Dee only signed for one Batman Movie but never signed a 2 picture deal like he did with star wars. I mean he said that he "Wanted desperately to do Two-Face" And "Was hoping his role in Batman 89 would segway into that". So much for his so called desperation. Still if he had signed a 2 picture deal contract, he wouldn't have to worry about being replaced.

@@Bulls3ye86 There are some cases where people may testify in court with their face concealed (I.e for religious reasons like a hijab or for witness protection).
That said vigilantes are illegal to begin with. People also don't tend to survive acid baths, have guns that can freeze people, or gain immortality from bathing in a certain liquid. Comics have always stretched the boundaries of reality which is part of the entertainment.
