@@spiderman4538 the only reason Harry is the goblin is they already did Norman in the rain trilogy. I think the reason they gave for Harry being the goblin is good. Even though it's pretty vague and doesn't make sense it made sense for Norman to be sick with the disease as it harkens back to the first film Dr Connors finding a cure for osborn. But osborn should've had more screen time. I'd usually agree Norman should've been first because I love him in Spectacular Spider-man, he's pure evil and deserves to be put to justice. Yet I really like the idea of Harry stepping up to become the goblin, with a few tweaks this goblin could've had a great look. Hans Zimmer's Goblin theme makes me like the character to be honest but idk why I don't mind Harry being the first goblin. Maybe I even like Harry better. Maybe because the connection feels more personal. I'm not sure. Maybe because it makes more sense for a nerdy kid to dress up as a goblin elf or magical Egyptian goblin or even a Halloween themed goblin than a guy like Norman dressing up as one. Unless the costume was pure scary then I could see it being Norman. But yes I know that's why Norman is so fun. You can't tell he's the goblin because the goblin is nothing like him, he goes insane and is still evil but crazier and more energetic. Sometimes batshit crazy like the 90e show version

He shows up out of nowhere and we're expected to believe that they've been best friends for a long time. Also, maybe they should've just not had the Green Goblin at all in the second movie, and rather tease it for the third, having him being the big bad all the way through rather than just eight minutes of screentime as the Goblin. What they could've done was at least show flashbacks to when Peter and Harry WERE friends and properly create that emotional weight between the two best friends, so it would make Harry's fall to becoming the Goblin all the more depressing, but at the same time, epic because now we finally have Spider-Man's archenemy on the big screen again. They also should've killed Gwen off in the third film rather than the second. With all the foreshadowing in the second film (And not even subtle either, but literally hammering it in our heads that she's going to die), they could've done a bait-and-switch with us where Gwen is saved in this film again, but by the third film, Harry would finally reach his breaking point and kill Gwen, solidifying his role as this Peter's archenemy. Overall, the concept is great, but the execution was terrible. This version of the Green Goblin would've worked very well with Harry as the first due to the other few changes made to Peter's origin, like Ben never giving the iconic, "With great power comes great responsibility." speech. So Peter has to learn the hardest ways to learn that lesson, and to have his best friend kill his girlfriend and having Peter not snap by crossing that line would've really worked in terms of his development.
Believe me, you're not the only one. The one true Green Goblin is Norman Osborn. If Harry becomes the Hobgoblin, I'm fine with that. Better than New Goblin.

Is it just me that thinks it makes no sense here why Harry would call himself "the Goblin" when he looks almost nothing like the Green Goblin from the comics? I'd understand if he had the original costume, where he undoubtedly LOOKS like a goblin, rather than just some guy in an armoured suit riding a glider. I hope he gets a better costume in the sequels, for the sake of the name not sounding so tacked on.

Plus his incessant preaching and telling the bad guys how they suck and he is so much better than they are, the non-stop moral posturing, truly ticks me off. It's clear he's the hero but does he have to be unbelievably condescending to every bad guy fights.
I'll have to give that one to you. And even if Peter was going to say anything, he sounds like he's trying to have a casual conversation in an all out brawl with someone. At least sound like your shouting to communicate in an actual fight, and not like your counseling someone at a dinner table.

Agreed. If they don't get the movie actors, I don't see why they can't get Josh Keaton, Christopher Daniel Barnes, or one of the other fantastic actors who've played Spider-Man in animation. Hell, even Drake Bell did better than this guy. And Steven Blum can't be hard to get, he's in every Wolverine game, I don't see why they didn't have him as Goblin. His Goblin in "Spectacular Spider-Man" was PERFECT.
