Seeing some of those suits get destroyed mentally hurt me as a kid. That was one of the most coolest things I ever saw as a kid and it still is. The iron man trilogy are my favorite pair of movies of all time. I rewatch them once almost every month.
Kinda foreshadowing how Tony is willing to go all out to save the ones he love (Pepper, not just Mr. President lol), be it his sophisticated suits or himself to go to battle.
The one at 1:58 looked really cool lol. Kinda sad we never saw that one or any if the others in action for very long.

These suits that Tony destroyed could've been great assets in Infinity War.
It's not like he just lost it ... he could've easily made them again. That's what makes iron man amazing. It's not just the suits. Hes got every detail and blue print of every model in his head. This is what makes him the best.
Well the mark 50 has the power of all of these suits combined and more, so he didn’t really need them and they were really easy for even random extremis soldiers to tear apart so thanos would have shredded them

The suits were all in prototype stages due to Tony looking to distract himself from his PTSD, meaning that they weren't as powerful or strong compared to the ones he spent time developing like the Mark 3 or the Mark 7. The strength was in numbers here rather than strength.

I love the fact that the majority of this film is just Tony using his wit to survive showing how good of a hero he is in and out of his suit
He shows that he's more than just genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.
Like the scene where he tries to find the Mandarin, and all he has are DIY home appliances turned into weapons.
This, that, and all the other scenes that's related to your comment are why the movie is so awesome and, I swear, makes it so underrated lol.
It's really cool that all of the suits - ALL OF THEM - were different. No copy-pasted. All had their quirks, strenghts and weaknesses, all of them documented and look like something he would make for variety of purposes.

Yes. He LET Rhodey take the suit. This clearly states it could not have been taken if he didn't want it to, or he had a system in place- whether it was to automatically bring the suit back or just shut it down- to prevent Rhodes from taking it.

@@ThePlastikChair yes, as just stated above he did let rhodey take the suit. in IM2 tony was dying of paladium poisoning. he didnt want to give away his technology but at the same time needed to in the event that he dies, so he threw parties and got drunk specifically to make the world think he was off the rails and rhodey think to take the suit. rhodey didnt beat him because he was better, but because tony let him win. rhodey had to win in order to be "stronger" than iron man and maintain the legacy from the point of view of the rest of the world

In 1:15, you can see one of the suits create a sonic boom while the others behind it don't. The armor is actually the Mark 40 "Shotgun", a hypervelocity suit capable of reaching Mach 5. It got it's name from how it breaks the sound barrier at such high speeds.

Why do so many people dislike this part of the movie? For me, it is the movie that has the most impressive and memorable scenes.
they hated what they did to the mandarin which is what ruined the film for so many.. which bye the way, is NOT a character that would've been easily incorporated to the MCU with only what they established up to this film. This is stil one of my top 3 comic book movies. I fucking love it.
At the time this was released, not a lot of fans liked it. But now that Endgame is way past us, this movie completed everything about who Tony was and what he did for everyone. The characters of the MCU in phases 1-3 had depth

I remember watching this in theaters and could not remember one suit from the Iron Legion. I was surprised to see what they actually looked like when I saw them online.

I was 35 when I saw this scene in the theater. I don't remember anything else making me feel like a 6 year old this much. I grew up reading Ironman comics.
As much as Iron Man isn't my favourite MCU character, when all his armours arrived, that became one of my favourite scenes in the MCU, up there with Cap wield Mjiolnir, the Portals scene, Thor's arrival in Wakanda, and Captain Marvel going full power for the first time.

They'd be scrapped in seconds. Quantity doesnt mean quality and he made these to handle his ptsd. He could have done millions of these suits before facing Thanos if he wished to. That plan ended with Ultron.

Never understood why the suits bothered going into melee range, having built-in reactors by the looks of things and the enemy only equipped with assault rifles and the odd guy who can throw fireballs most of the suits could have just lined up, ignoring the small arms fire and either pulse or uni blasted the lot in a continuous barrage.

Seems incredibly dangerous, considering that Tony, Rhodey, Pepper and the president of the US are all walking/hanging around somewhere down there. Way too much risk for collateral damage, which Jarvis obviously wouldn't want to risk.

It's a shame some of these suits weren't properly used to their function, like there's some stealth suits... underwater suits...

Bro they had a perfect chance to use this kind of scene in endgame since he made it to mark 85, I would of loved to see Nanotech suits in the field controlled by friday

Nah. Nanotech suits need an actual person to form around on since how the armor is shaped is based on the wearer's body.
