What's Christianity to me? The second question was the easiest to answer. Although I think Jesus's words and teaching are THE base of what we called morality, most of the words bishops and church's men pronounce aren't compatible with my values and beliefs. Studying philosophy and letterature I discovered that most of the things written in the Bible came from previous Greek or Latin myths. And a lot of things are completely made up( not included in th bible) and incompatible with science in which I truly believe. So Christianity became just an " invention " to me. Then I asked myself : who's god? Christianity makes us think the bad in the world happens because we do something wrong or God has a plan we can't understand yet. But it seems to be a bondage between humans and poverty, disease, violence which are often beyond our control. If God is the most powerful being why does he let such things happen? If Christianity is an invention made up by people who needed answers, may God be the same? Among all the centuries all the population believed in some gods. Greeks, Romans, Egyptians believed in gods because they needed an answer science couldn't provide yet. And that's why God still "exist in our mind" It is a comfortable thought. You can never feel lonely if you believe you constantly have someone by your side protecting you. It is more of a mental thing. I don't know if I explained my thought properly. English is not my first language and having such hard conversations about hot topics can be difficult and I can be misunderstood. Anyway in no way I mean disrespect to those who believe Event though my words could sound harsh to them, I don't have any lighter way to say what I think.
