Busy day at my local trail system with dozens of hikers swarming bike-only trails. Made for some "interesting" observations! Watch to the end for full effect :P
I know everyone is out enjoying the day, but there are literally thousands of miles of hiking trails in Cali, yet they always end up on the bike trails. Same problem on the east coast. I had a lady in North Carolina yell at me one time as she stood by a sign that said bikes only, no hikers or horses.
You handled thise walkers perfectly. You were courteous and respectful but also clear innyour warning to them. Getting angry only gives Mt bikers a bad name and ends up closing things down for us in the long term. Good job brother.
Looks like a great place. What do you ride? I like the hiker warning system 😅. I mean the brake's. When i was watching the sound was freaking my lab out. You can't put out enough signage for the hikers 🤯
I'm riding a Giant Reign E+. Yeah those Galfer semi metallic pads start crooning like a drunk Bassett hound once they get hot. It's annoying AF but anything less gets cooked on the steeps and I haven't yet reached the level where I can just let go of the brakes 😂. I've never seen so many hikers at this place. Pretty sure they came as part of some group so hopefully it's just a one time thing. In any case, all's well as long as everyone went home without incident.
Wow! Did you change your settings? The colors seems to be more vivid. Question for you. Around 1:58 there's another trail before you take Slaps. Have you taken that one? Was this last Saturday? A bunch of people used the skinny as a bench when we were there as well.
Hey Mac! Yes, I've been playing around with a ND filter and lower upper ISO limit as it was looking quite unrealistic without motion blur. I still need to tweak it a bit so it stops messing too much with the hypersmooth. I suppose the hikers were out just like the bikers to enjoy the good weather, but maybe the trail needs signage in multiple languages to serve all audiences. The majority out that day were definitely not native English speakers.
E bikers are so good off road, they save so much time using their fitness to go up hill, so they can do downhill like 5x more times than normal cyclists who have to be fit enough to get up to the top of the hill.
Thanks for the ND filter! 32 may be a bit much for these conditions but I'm able to bring the shadows up enough for it to look right. Upper ISO limit is 400 right mow which may be fine for ND8 but it's not playing well with the Hypersmooth so I think 800 might hit the sweet spot.
we've got the same type of kooks here, they're all over. i came down a trail that has a large sign clearly saying "DANGER - ONE WAY - DOWNHILL ONLY - HIGH SPEED RIDERS" and i almost ran over 2 women who were hiking up.. I didn't even have a place to slow down and explain to them to find a safer place to hike.
It's usually not like this here. This seemed to be a large meetup of some sort but otherwise everybody here knows their space. I think the group on the skinny was just resting there but some folks did actually choose to climb steep bike trails which seems nuts. I'm just glad the weekend passed without news of any collisions.
I get the name of the channel, but no need to hide the location. We need more riders on the trails. The Bay Area has progressed well over the last decade.
This trail is in Augustin Bernal Park in Pleasanton. I don't think the trail has a name yet but it's called What Should We Call The New MTB Downhill Trail on Strava.

Agreed, so many hiking trails around the East Bay Area but some hikers ignore the posted signs and create a dangerous situation. I've seen situations where they've placed large tree branches across the trial, WTF!. Be alert out there and let us all get home safely.
at 8:55 i would not have been so nice, i would have been off my bike and letting them all know that they in the wrong spot and need to move that instant. being nice unfortunately wont get you far with those kinds of people
This was a one off thing and I'm not likely to see so many hikers there again. I just wanted to enjoy my ride... didn't really feel like getting on a soapbox for anyone. Now, if I saw the same people on the trail on my second lap, that would be a different story.
We all need to be cautious and respectful. For how many years to you think bicyclists rode hiking trails. I watch all sorts of bike videos and seems we are all inclined to make our own rules and follow posted one if convenient. Stay safe.
Yep. Regardless of who's in the wrong, interactions on the trail need to be cordial and respectful both ways. There's plenty of space out there for everyone, and everyone gets to go about enjoying their day if they aren't getting mad about trivial stuff.

Great video! Haven't ridden in 3 years now. Didn't know they finally created bike-only trails!
Thanks for watching! I've been off the bike for over 3 months now recovering from a hand fracture. I can't wait to get back out there. You should too!
Those two hikers that you corrected said they were lost, nice of you to help
Good ride! Lap 2 looked pretty fast.
Colors look good too.

Hikers are the Priuses of the trails!

Nice trail. Nice bike. Where is this at I would like to visit when I get a chance. Thanks.

Man I wish it was that easy, but the truth is that posting the location invites harassment, even physical threats. Ask me how I know.
Where’s this? Would be awesome that you include locations in the description box.
Hey I would like to know where I should park my car to ride down and which way do I get back to my car. I’m a beginner FYI
Way nicer to those hikers than I would have been..
What trail is this
May I ask what the name of this trail is / where it is? :)

oh boy..... where is this? looks like amazing trails.
which trail is that looks fun.

It would be nice e to see a ranger out there giving tickets to those hikers
Nice job, you handled it better than many would. What trail is this?
Either there's a lack of signage or you can't fix stewpud.
Nice ride man🎉
Thanks for watching!
Yo what camera do you use?
Thanks for watching! I'm using a GoPro Hero 8 on a chin mount.
looks like briones. I'm far but would love to ride there someday.

Where is this ? Trails look sick
are those brakes or trumpets on your bike?
I know right! I am using semi metallic pads which are great for stopping quickly but they can get noisy when they heat up.
bells are for cattle@@fightclubMTB
That's not the material you got some kind of contaminate on the pads or rotors. They will sound that way when wet but otherwise no.
Nice ride brotha 🤙🏽
Thanks for watching man!
You might need to slow rebound down 1 or 2 clicks. That was a lot of saves lol
Your brake sounds like an Aztec death whistle. That should scare everyone off trail😅
I know, right 🤣🤣🤣

This is training for zombie apocalypse.....they will be everywhere!
Livermore?
Una pregunta en donde es ay
