I did not realize that holding the fiber in the left hand and drafting with the right make a left handed spinner. I have never used a saxony wheel so have never had to hold the fiber in my right hand or had an issue with using my left. Very nice looking wheel, glad you got it before he retired.
Hi Sara, Thankyou for sharing this video podcast. Your Lendrum Saxony Wheel, looks so beautiful. 🎡🎡 I too am very much "right handed" but a "left handed Spinner ".. The eWheel 6and the Nano Wheels use Scotch Tension 🎡🎡 Happy Spinning Fibre Friend 🎡🐑🥰 Take care and stay safe Lots of love and Big Hugs Jen xxxx ❤️❤️❤️🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🐈⬛

Such a joy to see your new spinning wheel in action. You did such a consistent finish on it!!!! Yes would love to see you spin and n the other three, especially the Kiwi which I think you might have? Sending you thoughts of loving kindness. K
This is such a beautiful wheel! I too am a left handed spinner. If someone would have explained to me about Saxony wheels I would have never bought a right handed Wyatt Saxony wheel. It is made of mesquite wood and so lovely (I am its second owner). Only problem is the treadles are so slanted I am twisted when I spin. So, there she sits. I want to take it back to the maker and see what we can do (trade her in or modify?). Not too sure. It is a really expensive wheel and she deserves to be used every day. Thanks again for sharing! LuAnn
Oh no! I’m so sorry LuAnn! Hopefully you can figure out a way to get the maker to help you out! On day, I dream of designing my own spinning wheel! One that any spinner can use, regardless of handedness 🤩
I just found your video! I also have a lendrum saxony, flyer on the right but mine is cherry. I drove to the yarn barn to try one out last year and fell IN LOVE. They actually told me they were sold out when I visited and I left really sad but a few days later the owner called and told me he had one for me. He talked to someone who was willing to switch to a left sided flyer. Mine probably shipped around the same time as yours. They are beautiful wheels and like you, I am a left handed spinner but right handed in every other way lol. I was wondering, where did you get your wool foot covers? I have slippers I wear with mine, but wool covers sound amazing.
What an amazing story!! I’m so glad they were able to get one for you! If you Google search Cozy Feet treadle covers, you’ll find the place. I’ve bought covers for all of my treadle wheels and they’re amazing quality and so comfy!
Can you do a video demonstrating long draw on this wheel? I just got a used Kromski Symphony, which is a saxony style wheel. I’m spinning in double drive and really want to get better at long draw. I understand the concepts but would love to see and hear your take on it. Thanks!
Yay congratulations! I have exactly the same wheel (walnut, flyer on the right) I love it so much! I was thinking that maybe I should order extra plastic connectors for the treddles. Did you do this or do you think it not necesarry?
I didn’t. But that isn’t to say I won’t. I’ve seen people be very creative with those connectors. One lady used hot glue sticks as replacements. They worked flawlessly. Another used clear plastic tubing. Also worked perfectly.

Apparently I’m a “left-handed” spinner too (which I’m not, just like you’re not 😂) Lovely wheel, thanks for showing it off!!
Such a weird naming convention!! Thanks for watching.
Congratulations!!! What a beauty!

@@TheSpinningSara Thank you! These are good tips if there are no more parts!
