I’m definitely one of the oldies that loved revisiting Poppies Lane 1. First went there mid 1970’s. Drinks at The Pub which was originally on Bemo Corner and then a stroll to Poppies Restaurant for something to eat. It was wonderful. 🏝️💝
Good old Poppies 1 and 2. I doubt many survived as most shops owned by landlords. The staff are the ones who missed out badly, remembering that there is no Social security. I feel so sorry for them. In the early days Poppies was really the place to be, so many stories to tell. I mean there was not a huge lot above Padma street off Legian. Great as usual. X
Was there for 1 month on my travels as a 19 year old in 2001 and it was a blast, so many young backbackers there all having a great time. I hope business picks up again.
Everything is so different in Bali. In Poppies 1, some shops no longer exist. And there are so few people around. The rerstaurants empty. I know that differently. I was very often on this beautiful island until 2019. That's sad.

Great update. Poppies 1 looks so different to when I went before What area or streets do you think has the best mix of different country visitors and locals now? (Beaides canggu) ..seminyak doing well still? Curious to know where most visitors/tourist and locals be going now. I'd love to see which streets you think have the best mix and that are busier or popping
I stayed in Poppies One at the lovely Kuta Puri Bungalows back in June. I was told the big area of cleared vacant land in Poppies One was going to be a new resort hotel??

There is a new hotel complex being built on the site of the old Victory. It will house a hotel, boutique shops and cafes. It will transform Poppies 1.
