Yeah, that is quite a stupid reason to accept someone, they are really overdoing this trope. This way one can understand why some saviours just don't want to reveal their act of saving because they don't want gratitude but true love.
That’s how Chinese dramas are. In every other drama male lead believes that the scheming woman saved him and loves her unconditionally. Later in the climax the scheming woman will blurt out that the female lead only saved him. Then next instant the male lead will transfer his love to the female lead.
In this drama the roles have reversed.

I thought this would be corny, but it was cute. The ML was so affable and lovely. The FL has TERRIBLE taste in work fashion, but she was a girl who knew how to stand up for herself and how to let go of "being right" in order to be happy. And in the end, she chose HAPPY.

有趣不過剪輯有問題
这剧编的太好了！有一半以上都是甜宠戏、秀恩爱、撒狗粮，看得让人身心舒畅。一开始看男女主不觉得怎样，越到后面越觉得好看，尤其是女主，微胖的身材最符合我的审美观，男主在她面前还真有点像小奶狗。整出戏没什么狗血剧情，女主父亲和妹妹一直想尽办法对付女主但屡屡吃瘪看得真让人解气，男主父母也很有趣、很明理。尤其是男主母亲和女主一番对话轻松化解女主对男主隐瞒身份的误解，这种剧情发展才合情合理。这剧真的非常值得观赏。
