I've been thinking, and I've come to the conclusion this might be my favorite Panic! song. Not just on Fever, but like.. ever. I can't explain the feeling I get when the chorus hits, and every time I hear the "ba, ba, ba-doh" bits. Especially on live versions with Ryan on background vocals & harmonizing with Brendon. I've shed a few tears before, tbh. It's magic. ✨
I think it's probably my favorite Panic! song, too- and I can't even believe I'm saying that because it's so difficult picking between all of their songs. This song is based on ryan's life growing up. His dad was an alcoholic who ryan had to take care of when he would "relapse" so camisado is his way of explaning and dealing with it all. The whole "sit back and relapse again" is because ryans dad would become sobber for awhile but then go back to his old habbits. "decorated emergency" deals with all the times ryan was called telling him that his dad was in the hospital again and needed to go get him. Thats where the whole "youve earned a place atop the icu's hall of fame".Also "this is the scent of dead skin on a linolieum floor" means that hospitals have those types of floors and ryan had to spend so much time in them and see so much that it fits into the song well. Then we have another important line. "the bruises and contusions will remind me what you did when you wake". This is ryan dealing with his fathers drinking while trying to start panic!. His and brendon's fathers didn't approve of them leaving college for music so even though ryan would do everything to help his dad get sobber when he'd wake up his dad would forget all the good things ry did for him and still try and kick him out of the house. So basically that's the main idea behind camisado.

Honestly the older songs from the band are underrated and don't get as much as attention as their recent music. Would love to see them perform their older songs now.
actually I think they are way better than their new stuff - more complex, both musically and lyrically - the newer stuff is too mainstream pop and too simple

One of those songs where I'm really into the first 10 seconds and wish there was a version with just that part for 3 minutes. Not that the rest of the song isn't good, I just really like the intro.
came back to this song after so long. I’ve always really liked it, but I’ve grown another appreciation for it, especially after the direction panic! went in after the other members left. the breakdown at 2:03 is simply legendary, haha

My uncle just recently passed on October 23rd 11:30 p.m. he had a sudden clot in his lungs and was immediately rushed to the hospital and was there for a week and a half, he also had problems with alcohol and his liver which didn't help at all, his condition was worsening everyday. I remember seeing him the day before he died and I was so scared seeing all the tubes connected through his mouth and nose, he couldn't even open his eyes. I just stood there in shock not believing what I was seeing, hoping to just wake up from this dream. Then it just clicked on me that this is reality, that this is really happening, and I broke down right then and there. This whole week has felt surreal and I'm so thankful for all my friends helping me through this. I'll never forget all the laughter and smile my uncle has brought me over the years, I'll never forget the lessons of life he told me and what it means to grow up and handle your responsibilities and accept life for what it is, and I'll never forget your jokes for sure. R.i.p. tio wence, sincerely tu mechon. Thank you for everything.
"You can't take the kid out of the fight, take the fight out of the kid" This means so much to me. Idk why I see it this way but it makes me think that the fight is life. If our minds can't kill us, they will take out will to keep fighting away, this taking our will to live away. Idk. It's like a metaphor for my life.

god i miss when brendon hit those breathy high notes instead of screaming. like his belting was good too but then he just started screaming instead and it makes me sad.
The vocals on this track are wonderful. I always wished they did a video to this since it was one of my favorites from the album. Ryan Ross was the heart of this band!!
I just realised that "can't take the kid from the fight, take the fight from the kid" means you can't take a kid out of a bad situation but being in that situation takes all the fight/spirit out of the kid which is much sadder than I originally thought
I was 11 when I first bought this album and listened to it cover to cover. I just turned 30 last month and I still remember these songs/lyrics. Such a classic! ❤
This song is still by far one of my favorites, his voice mixed with the message of the lyrics that i really relate to and understand just hits home in such an amazing way
I get that this is supposed to be about drugs and stuff but when it started talking about the ICU and the skin on the floor it hit me hard because my mom had a heart attack two weeks ago and she was an emergency and no one knew what happened to her until today they did. We found her not breathing and her heart stopped on her bathroom floor and once she was in the ICU someone had to be with her at ALL times. And this song just makes me think of it and break down in tears.
As an 18yr old who is now almost two years clean from meth; this song always hits me like a ton of bricks. Being in and out of rehabs & therapy, seeing my friends in and out of foster homes and juvy. As a teen on hard drugs, everyone and i mean *everyone* abaondons you, its almost like hospitals and mental institutions are the only place to turn to. They provide the only care and comfort you're allowed to have anymore, heated blankets, IV's, sleeping pills, three meals a day. Its a sad sad cycle because you begin to think of these places as a kind of home or as a kind of group that you belong in. Im so happy that I broke this habbit. Im finally clean and surrounded by people who care about me. And I finally have a place to call home, somewhere I dont have to run away from when I'm at my worst. Panic at the disco speaks to me in ways I cant even explain. It feels like each song is meant for me almost

This song speaks to me in so many ways. Rant warning Ok. So, when I was in about 3rd grade, my mom started abusing Xanax. I really didn’t know it was wrong until she had 2 strokes in 2 years because of it. When I hit 6th grade, she was getting better about it, but my parents relationship and attraction towards each other is just gone. Then, one day, it was me, my sister, and her home alone. She had run out so she was having withdrawals. She had a seizure, and we had to call the police. It was scary. Luckily after that she got clean. At this point I am surprised my parents are still married. Now, my dad had to go work out of town. The day he leaves my mom started drinking alcohol. Now, she does this at night sometimes before this just to have fun. Now as soon as she would wake up, she starts drinking. My dad does come home on the weekends, which I like, and my dad might get a new job so he can be home. I’m now about to be in 7th grade. So yeah, thanks for coming to my rant. Have a good day guys. 😘 P.s: My parents fight (and fought a lot) So the lyric “can’t take the kid from the kid from the fight, take the fight from the kid, just sit back relapse, sit back relapse. (The relapse thing about my moms addiction)😘
The main reason that I love this song is that all of it is just so quotable. Normally with songs there's one or two lines that are incredible uses of language and verbal trickery, but in this song it's like there are no 'filler' lines or cheesy words, it is just so high quality.

Honestly the older songs from the band are underrated and don't get as much as attention as their recent music. Would love to see them perform their older songs now.
actually I think they are way better than their new stuff - more complex, both musically and lyrically - the newer stuff is too mainstream pop and too simple

0:58 you can hear “the only difference between martyrdom and suicide is press coverage” in the background
Specifically “This is just the prologue”
One of those songs where I'm really into the first 10 seconds and wish there was a version with just that part for 3 minutes. Not that the rest of the song isn't good, I just really like the intro.
+JohnVAce Exactly
I don't hate the first 10 seconds of the song but I prefer the rest of the song. Especially that high note around 1:08
same that part is just so good

This is my favorite Panic! song. The lyrics and their meaning. Brendon's vocals. It's PERFECT.
Gerard, please give Patrick his fedora back.
came back to this song after so long. I’ve always really liked it, but I’ve grown another appreciation for it, especially after the direction panic! went in after the other members left. the breakdown at 2:03 is simply legendary, haha

I Forgot My Name same
My uncle just recently passed on October 23rd 11:30 p.m. he had a sudden clot in his lungs and was immediately rushed to the hospital and was there for a week and a half, he also had problems with alcohol and his liver which didn't help at all, his condition was worsening everyday.
"You can't take the kid out of the fight, take the fight out of the kid"
This means so much to me. Idk why I see it this way but it makes me think that the fight is life. If our minds can't kill us, they will take out will to keep fighting away, this taking our will to live away.
Idk. It's like a metaphor for my life.

The I.V. and your hospital bed
This was no accident
This was a therapeutic chain of events
This is the scent of dead skin on a linoleum floor
This is the scent of quarantine wings in a hospital
It's not so pleasant
And it's not so conventional
It sure as hell ain't normal
But we deal, we deal
The anesthetic never set in and I'm wondering where
The apathy and urgency is that I thought I phoned in
It's not so pleasant.

@- 11:11 the way I made this comment thinking it would be over by now
I just realised that "can't take the kid from the fight, take the fight from the kid" means you can't take a kid out of a bad situation but being in that situation takes all the fight/spirit out of the kid which is much sadder than I originally thought
I was 11 when I first bought this album and listened to it cover to cover. I just turned 30 last month and I still remember these songs/lyrics. Such a classic! ❤
This song never fails to make me miss Ryan's voice and Fever era Panic

But Ryan's solo stuff is really good
This song is still by far one of my favorites, his voice mixed with the message of the lyrics that i really relate to and understand just hits home in such an amazing way
how many legends still listening to this?
I hope your happy

Rant warning
Ok. 😘
P.s: My parents fight (and fought a lot)
So the lyric “can’t take the kid from the kid from the fight, take the fight from the kid, just sit back relapse, sit back relapse. (The relapse thing about my moms addiction)😘
hope you're good mate

"This is the scent of quarantine wings in a hospital" Hi from 2020!
i'm obsessed with 1:08
i hate interviewers who ask ryan about his dad how about you come over here and catch these hands
The main reason that I love this song is that all of it is just so quotable. Normally with songs there's one or two lines that are incredible uses of language and verbal trickery, but in this song it's like there are no 'filler' lines or cheesy words, it is just so high quality.
this song means so much to me and has helped me through so much. I haven't been able to listen to music all week because I'm meant to be grounded, but its all worth it to hear this song. my favorite song in afycso.
the bridge of this song is one of the best bridges in history
Is this the only song in the whole album with a title less than 3 words
2:35am was having a mental breakdown earlier... have been to the hospital for cutting in the past almost a year ago... This song.... I will never stop listening to it cause it just saved me
And the award for the shortest title in a fever you can’t sweat out goes to:
I can't believe they are breaking up and this era is over... 17 great years, thanks for all the memories, PATD!
I think this song and lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking off her clothes are the best songs off this album in my opinion
