My dad is a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He went in in 1995 and got out in 1991 so he could attend to his wife (my mom). Then, two years later, I was born in April. But, some months later, 9/11 happened. He was offered to be promoted to sergeant if he stayed in for 4 more years, but declined. It kinda freaks me out knowing that he could’ve easily stayed in and gotten promoted, and be one of the first into Afghanistan when the war on terror began. He’s still got his cammies, (The Marine Corps’ battle dress uniform), before they were changed to the Marine pattern digital in 2003. It’s really cool seeing a World War Two Marine being painted. You did really well.

Just Google "usmc p42 uniform" you'll find a ton of references. There aren't that many color pictures from ww2 with them in action
