  • I go over how I painted my USMC force using my "quick and dirty" method to get a large force on the table fast, but still look decent. This is also a test of my new camera controller so bear with me.

    Thanks for the great painting tutorial for usmc, very helpful. Well done on covering your technique for painting the usmc helmet cover. The technique you used is very effective and looks great.Great to see the ww2 pacific theatre getting coverage. Hope to see your tutorial on painting the Japanese next. I also really enjoyed your painting of early war germans vid as well. Keep up the great work, luv your channel. Finding your coc campaign games very interesting.

    Great work! The five o'clock shadow is a really nice touch. I quite like your painting style, and the army looks first rate.

    I use two methods. Vallejo Jungle Moss then dry brush withGolden Blonde for base uniform. Helmet is Palomino Gold. Then a mix of Palomino Gold and Chestnut Gold in splotched on, then Chestnut Brown splotches. Boots Chestnut Brown stocks Muddy Brown. Alternatly, a grey green for uniform

    Just want to say I love your videos. You alone actually motivated me to try my hand at modern minis with your Multicam tutorial. It sounds like you were in the 10th Mountain once upon a time? Were you in Triple Deuce?

    • @tabletopcp
      @tabletopcp  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chris Knuckle thanks Chris. Really appreciate the kind words. I was in 10th Mountain back in the day, but not in triple deuce. I was in 3/14, which has since been re designated 4/32 or some such thing 🤨

      Tabletop CP I was just curious. My NCOIC was in 2-22 back in 99'-04' and my GF was an MP on Drum around the time too and from listening to them talk it seemed like they were the only unit on post, lol.

    • @tabletopcp
      @tabletopcp  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chris Knuckle I can assure you they were not. In fact I was in an entirely separate brigade from 2-22 😄

    I bought a box of 30 extras, that I plan to build as Bazooka teams and raiders.

    I know this is kind of late but what primer did you use? It looks so clean and makes the paint job easier to apply.

    Great video! You mentioned Type F; what are the different types of Marines?

    • @tabletopcp
      @tabletopcp  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      redmist1122 type F is a type of late war platoon that used fire teams. A bit unwieldy in chain of command. Basically a squad with three teams and four leaders lol

    I know this is a old video but any advice on starting out painting miniatures without breaking the bank?

  • @therobbedsonofdan9774
    @therobbedsonofdan9774 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you have a list of paints that you used and what brand?

    • @tabletopcp
      @tabletopcp  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dan Robson I didn’t list them sadly. They are stated in the video only. They are all Vallejo paints.

    • @therobbedsonofdan9774
      @therobbedsonofdan9774 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks just got into the whole wargaming and miniatures gig. Picked up some US Marines. A little bit nervous about painting them though.

    • @tabletopcp
      @tabletopcp  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dan Robson don’t worry. They don’t have to be masterpieces as long as they are painted and you are happy with them. Use this technique to start and once you get it down move in to something a little more complex. You can do this.

    • @therobbedsonofdan9774
      @therobbedsonofdan9774 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks man I really appreciate the advice. I'm guessing you've been doing this sort of hobby for quite a while now. I also really didn't think they were that small when I first got them either. You have any advice for bases? I see people with wicked cool bases with sand and what not. But it seems a bit daunting. At this point I just want the minis to look good.

    • @tabletopcp
      @tabletopcp  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dan Robson super simple. Just get some PVA (elmers) glue and put it on the base then dip it in sand (after you glue the completed model to the base). Then prime the entire thing in grey.
