I stay at Raoof Hotel, excellent. The restaurant below is always packed, very good food. I also stay at Hotel Kismat, 4th floor, view of the port, huge balcony, great breeze. Restaurant below Kismat, Delices, very cheap and good.
I ate at the restaurant below Raoof a couple times, it was pretty good. You are referring to Delices near Leader Price,? Yes very cheap..I did'nt notice a hotel there I'll take a look next time.
@@pddembowski yes its right next door on the corner. 4 stories, view is great. Big rooms, nice staff, wifi is very good. Same with Raoof without the view.
I don't recognise much from the 1960s. The cathedral, the famous big tree (Baobab?). The Hotel de ville was new in my time but I didn't see it in your video. I stayed a while at the Hotel de France near the big tree. I enjoyed my time there and picked up a lot of the Malagasy language.
@@pddembowskiI was around 20 and picked up a lot in my year there. I'm now living in the Philippines and find it difficult to learn Bisaya. Due to my age and declining hearing I guess.
Hey!! I was in tana for the first time 2 weeks ago..just came back to canada.. i really had a good time there.. people were nice . should go back in april.. to visit majunga ... your video is what i needed👍🏿👍🏿
I need to travel from Antananarivo to Nosy Be. It’s really far over 1000 km. Flight very expensive . Bus is probably danger overnight. Also how is possible to travel by bus such a long distance. It need 2 days. Need to sleep on the way. Do You have some idea? Please Thanks I’m from Montreal
I don't think the bus is dangerous at night. You can try to find a bus from Tana to Ambanja. Or you can do what I did - go from Tana to Majunga, stay in Majunga a few days, then take the Cotisse from Majunga to Ambanja. It will be a long uncomfortable bus ride, better to stop off somewhere for a couple days if you have the time.
I liked Tulear & Tamatave, hard to decide between the 2. I got bored quickly in Majunga to be honest. Tana is too hectic and polluted for me. I am now in Diego Suarez which looks very promising so far.

Malagasy is a hard language, I'm trying to learn some words here.

@@pddembowski ok thanks..majunga is too calm?
Very clean city compared to Tamatave
Look like small town in Cambodia..
Funny, I was just telling someone here in Mahajunga that it reminds me of early 2000 in Cambodia.
@@Olddog3985 Ya it really does.. I think it's the design of the buildings, mostly.. Don't know for sure..
The town looks like ghost town.
