Love to see people vlogging on a cruise ship instead of just talking about what they've done. It's great to see you're able to enjoy a few excursions and also see the ship's beauty instead of working all day. On our cruise we saw how much and how long the crew members worked. Radiance of the Seas Schooner Bar is my favorite because I spent a good part of my time there playing cards with friends in a Hawaii cruise. There was a big table in front of a huge window where we got to see a pod of dolphins playing in the middle of the ocean. Great layout of the Schooner Bar on that ship!
Wonderful video. Good to see all the places. You were hiking to the Mendenhall Glacier. You didn’t miss anything by not getting to the glacier. A glacier feels like a hunk of ice. It can be dangerous to be next to a glacier because it is moving and rocks can be falling off them. You have wonderful friends. Thank you so much for your videos. Wishing you a safe trip home.

I am lucky enough to live near enough to all the Florida ports to be able to drive to the ports. Miami being the furthest for me. However we are looking at a cruise to Iceland next year and it does involve flying back and that is proving to be pretty expensive too.
Hey Chris. Another option would be to get train to Belfast, then get the Stena Line ferry to Birkenhead. (But, then again, you might have had enough of travelling by sea, by that point).

Hey Chris, I've got an idea... If Royal Caribbean are paying for your flights home why not use the Lufthansa flight to Dublin then get cheap flight wirh Ryanair direct to Liverpool for about €30, its only a 55 minutes hop. You'll save yourself a fortune 👍
If your flying Vancouver to Dublin then Air Canada is the operating airline. It may have been sold under a Lufthansa codeshare as Lufthansa and Air Canada are partners. Any flight from Vancouver to Europe will be at least 8 hours.

Of all Royal Caribbean ships the best Schooner Bars without any doubt are those on ALL the Radiance class ships; Radiance, Serenade, Brilliance, and Jewel. Lots of space, floor to ceiling windows, and a bar with seats all around. It's a terrific design and hasn't been improved upon in any of the ships introduced since; in fact some are much worse. In the Oasis class SBs you cannot even see daylight; you might as well be on land, not on a ship. Quantum class is minorly better than that, ditto Voyager class where at least you have some round windows. I know at night daylight doesn't matter, but all Schooner bars host trivia during the day and it's nice to see the ocean at 10am. Just my humble opinion......
I would expect the YVR-DUB flight to be closer to 11 hours. Lufthansa (who I like) don't fly DUB-MAN, only DUB-MUC or DUB-FRA, which is why you're routed that way. You could buy a ticket YVR-DUB and then a Ryanair or Aer Lingus flight from DUB-MAN, always checking baggage allowances of course. You'll find that the seats on an airline are always narrower than those on a cruise line, where space isn't such a premium. Great camera work up the mountain Chris, good views. Any entertainment you show us always looks cheap, a quiz here, a Harry Potter movie there (neither of which you have to go on a cruise for)! I bet you're looking forward to going home!
Perhaps the company could reimburse crew members an amount equal to what it would have otherwise spent to get the crew member home. That way those crew members that would rather make their own arrangements are not totally out of pocket and like yourself get travel arrangements that are better suited to your needs.
You should just get off in Dublin, and buy a separate ticket from Dublin to Manchester, that route seems fairly inexpensive and is only an hour flight. Although, you wouldn't be able to check any bags.

Hi Chris, the air fare booked maybe the cheapest on a long routing …you say Lufthansa flight on your ticket but I think it will be a code share joint flight with Air Canada via a Canadian city then change onto a Lufthansa flight to Dublin, Munich,Liverpool…? Just my thought…you can check the route details on the web….but no matter what, you are going home !

Vancouver to Ireland would take 8 hours. But what I would do if I were you is keep the Lufthansa flight to Ireland and then get from Ireland to Manchester on your own - lots of options there.
Had a look at you’re actually on an Air Canada plane (usually a Dreamliner) from Vancouver to Dublin - you could ask RCL if they can amend your flight ticket to end in Dublin & then book a cheap Ryanair ticket to Liverpool/Manchester leaving enough time after your arrival for a potential delay/connection/terminal change at Dublin Airport 👍🏼
me and my parents went to Hungary for a holiday for a week , bed and breakfast , as was quite expensive we still got a good deal, and the taxi to and from home on gone up by 20 pounds
Are you sure that the carrier that oppeates the flight YVR to DUB is really Lufthansa? As fare as I know they are not operating this flight but Air Canada is. They may have just booked the ticket by Lufthansa and this would be a code share flight. From Vancouver, Lufthansa only has direct flights to Munich and Frankfort that’s it. I work in the airline industry just in case… Double check the tickets to make sure.

Since you’ll be checking bags your flight options are limited and costly. Otherwise you could just buy a one way from Dublin to Manchester and abandon the rest of your flights.

I like the Schooner bars on Grandure and Jewel as they are so much bigger than those on Ovation, Quantum and Anthem.

You may feel a little depressed after you get home. A big part of your life has changed forever. Take some time to enjoy being home.
I agree with you on the cost of travel. Airfare right now is 60 to 100 percent higher than before the shut down. Really limits the cruising for us.

Fares to/from Hawaii are pretty cheap right now. Perhaps you could fly here 🏝🌊🌋 first and directly back to London 🤔
