Personally I recall being 12 in 1969 and hearing all that great music when it was new. People that weren't alive back then just can't know that it was really like.
@@bobnagel6449 oh my gosh yes!!! I was a junior in high school and it seems like awesome R&R music was being turned out like water coming out of a firehose! I am so glad I grew up in what I believe was the greatest music time period ever! MIND BLOWN - Music is awesomely arranged. Wrecking Crew in top form. Arrangement putting that special 5th Dimension harmony in there. Dancing and prancing, the gals are beautiful and the guys are busy getting the heck out of the way. Clothes are one word, baby: Groovy!
Sincopare 🤣 Exactly. You can tell the dance steps were new and they had recently learned them. The girls (and Lamonte) always picked up the steps daily easy as you can see in the video.
I heard this song on my local oldies station; it sounded like the 5th Denison so came here to YT to see if I was right. And I was. I Love it. So much great music from that era.
Between '67 and '72 the 5th Dimension were seen all over TV in just about every format of the time, Late nite, Variety, Teen music shows, Educational (I believe they were even on Sesame Street), even prime-time drama shows of the day (It Takes A Thief). Any time they showed up on television in the 60's (which was quite often) I always fixated, for some reason, on Florence LaRue. Yes this 11 y.o. white boy had a major crush on Miss Florence LaRue!
siline janson I always say Marilyn McCoo and Florence LaRue are the all time most beautiful woman ever but I have to throw in Nancy Wilson also these are the first woman I associated beauty with
Everywhere I went in the sixties and early 70's I carried my AM radio with me. There was just too much great music to get it all on the radio. A great time to be alive indeed.
Seems to me that Marilyn and Ron are the real movers; considering the soulful moves they make with their bodies. But, that aside, the individual group member's voice control and range are the best; each and everyone of them. We're all very fortunate for all the entertainment they've provided over so many years.
The arrangement and harmonies were great. Marilyn and Flo were beautiful and classy. I recently came across this song and I've been playing it over and over. Remember it a as kid. Great memories living through that era.
I wasn't even thought of back then. However, love the music through the 1960s/1970s. The music was so "beautifully" expressed by all those that made music back then. "I certainly know good music when I hear it."
Now this is REAL music, Gen Z should watch this video if they're thinking of doing music, particularly sing. Such beautiful uplifting harmonies they had , Marilyn and Flo were beautiful and could sing brilliantly
Love them when I was a little girl. They seemed so cool and their harmonies were on point. Also, I hoped that I'd grow up to look like Marilyn McCoo. ❤
Mr. Billy Davis Jr was NOT hard on the eyes either with a great voice. Ms. Marilyn was no fool to fall for him. Two beautiful people. All of them really.
1969 is before I was born, but these two women make me want to steal Doc's DeLorean, get in and type 1969 in the Dash! They'd have to switch around the Lyrics to Marry me Bill..... more like it's over Bill!😆😆😆😉
The first album I ever bought was either their first "Hits" collection... or the Jackson Five's - I can't quite remember which. They were such a great act. Such strong voices in solo (Ron, in particular) but dang, when those kids wanted to blend, they were the best in the business. (Lookin' at you, Flo!!)! All that said, this is kinda funny, watching Lamont do his best to remember lyrics and choreography at the same time. Been there, I know.
This song was released in the summer of 1968 on the same LP with other songs, like Oh Sweet Blindness. Also, this song is available on 5th Dimension, Greatest Hits on LP, Cassette, and CD.
If you really wamt to make America great again, bring back this kind of music!
Yes!
Oh yes indeed.

What an excellent crafted song. Puts everything released today to shame.
Truth be known 😕
Absolutely 👍

They are certainly an absolute treat for the eyes and ears . (& both still are to this very day! )
They both won beauty pageants in their youth. Gee, wonder why. They'd look good in potato sacks. Great voices too.
Florence fine as h€ll 👀🔥☄️… Marilyn, too…. This was the JAM 🎶. I miss music like this( sigh)😔
Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis come in our store in Beverly Hills sometimes. They are the nicest people and she is still beautiful!
Marilyn McCoo and Florence LaRue are two of the most beautiful women I have seen in my entire lifetime! ;-)
Really?? Guess you haven't seen many women. They are nice looking, BUT FAR from the being most beautiful among all other women.
Never a truer word spoken. Goddesses both!

@@stevefranklin8052 Laughble comment! (no and I don't mean it's humorous!)
Think i missed California, sad that it's gone now 😞
Their voices are so rich & powerful.& when it comes to harmonizing, they were in a class by themselves. Only the Mama's & the Papa's come close.
Damn...Those women are BEAUTIFUL
I totally agree!!
A gem of a song, written by Ashford and Simpson.
Powerhouse wife-and-husband songwriting team!

January 1969 .... a great time to be a kid and have a radio in your room!

Unusual to see two beauties in one band
Marilyn......absolutely beautiful. Beautiful voice! Love the outfits!! ❤❤
Wayyy back then, and to this Day ... Marilyn McCoo is TO DIE FOR ! MMMMMMM
The flower power era back in time with such beautiful songs it's a magical moment
I'm not surprised to see that I'm not the only-one who thinks Marilyn is one of the sexiest woman to ever live
Still my fave group in 2023, from when I first heard them in 1967.
Marilyn McCoo can sing, dance, and is a beauty. She is PERFECT !!!
She's so tall and beautiful, and her voice is perfect.
