I am so glad you spoke out about this. I relate to this so much. I am autistic as well and I have friends that are not on the spectrum, but have a deep understanding of it. I have been taken advantage of a whole lot. And more often than not, it was people that were not on the spectrum. They have used me, talked to me as if I’m not smart, and have just overall taken advantage of my kindness and support. So I’m glad you talked about this to spread awareness. ❤❤❤❤ I am so sorry you have dealt with all of this too.

Thank you for your comment. It was only recently (around 6 or so months ago) that I realised when talking to a few people (two of which are neurotypicals, however are part of another community and have an understanding of those who are autistic!) that the person was speaking down to me.
I honestly don’t think people realise how negatively that impacts people with a disability or who are autistic as being spoken down to is absolutely disgusting. It honestly makes me feel like crap!
