    I can hear that the kids from the background noises are happily playing which I think is evident and it made me miss my childhood life at the province. How I wish I could turn back time to experience it again. Anyway, looks like everything goes smoother ate Meljean! Keep it up and God bless to the both of you! I really love your accent po 🥺❤️

    Tell Tom to be sure to seal all the gaps between the wood framing and the hollow blocks with a good waterproof chauking.

    OMG! Your house has outside walls. Amazing. I especially like the very basic solution to the "hydraulics" problem of drainage to protect the house. Bravo! Good job on the basic septic tank too! Keep vlogging, please.
    News on my side of things. My fiance and I are buying and renovating a condo in Pasig, Metro Manila. I am more excited for you though. God bless you.

    The progress is pretty swift! Junjun is very competent as is your father. Hard workers, indeed! I love how you are almost giddy with happiness! Exciting videos to come! I love all 3 of your channels. Watching them gives a great glimpse into your life and all those around you. Sincere thanks for sharing! ❤

      Hi meljean i just notice your toilet you said it's gonna be shower first then sink and bowl were is your door is it facing on your room or kitchen because your toilet is in rectangular form and if you place the door facing your room when you open the door presto it's shower area and that is not a good design and even you place your door facing your kitchen it's the same also shower area when you open the door,i suggest you place the door between your room on the corner facing the kitchen then when you open the door first is the sink then bowl the last is the shower area in a rectangular form you also have to consider how you will open your door is it push or pull or sliding.

    Using insulation in your walls also will reduce the thermal load on the interior...but as always, I know there is a tight budget. It is one of those things that if you spend now, you will reap the benefits long into the future.
    Also, where is the drain for the floor waste of the shower?
    I am really enjoying seeing the process of how homes are built in the philippines....it is a LOT different from here in Australia!

    So much advise! Its so easy to compare to advanced western house which is built to higher standards and costs alot more to build. I understand what you are trying to build: a simple cheap house. I must say your builder is very quick and is building to quite good standard for a simple house.
    In Thailand they just use 3 large concrete rings on top of each other for the septic tank. For our house we built two to handle excess water from a flushing toilet.

    Septic tank is 2/3 too small, and your concrete floor needs to be around 6" - 8" thick otherwise it could crack easily in earthquakes or settlement and damage tiles too, I already built simple house in Atabay, Hilongos.

    Your house will be cooler if you put some fiberglass batt insulation in top of the Gypsum Board ceiling and between the hollow area of the walls. Staple the wall insulation in now and then put the interior boards in place. So easy to do now, difficult later. Good luck, I enjoy watching your progress. I am marring a Filipino lady as soon as I can fly there.

    I can feel your excitement when you talk about the progress of you very own, and first house. It's coming along well. You and Tom are the perfect couple!
    Later on, you might want to add a taller roof on the back side , (so it dosen't block your view) and make a terrace twice as big as the front since you have such a nice view in back. It would be a good spot for a dirty kitchen and Bar B Que grill. Then invite me over for dinner with my fiancee next time I come.
    Hehehe...

    Nice video, you are making good progress on the house. In the west the floor would be 100mm plus lots more steel, I hope it holds together. If you are considering using air-conditioning insulation in the walls and ceiling would be essential.

    It's coming along nicely, it's a good build, I would like to share a technique for a natural form of aircon that I hope to be using in my build. By using buried 6" PVC pipe around the outside of the house, for a constant cool airflow. Also I will insulate between the walls and under the roof. I like to maintain a constant temperature for winemaking.

  • @tybell8899
    @tybell8899 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looking at your terrace, the hillside, and the front door.. If there is a heavy rain, U may still get water on terrace.. Here is one of your problems.. Digging a channel will send water around your house. "IF" you dont have roof gutters, the water coming off roof will cause your foundation to shift(move).. Dirt around your foundation should be at a downward slope (4feet) away from house. This way, water naturally flows away.. So. No gutters, no slope of soil around foundation,, and water from your channel "WIIL" weaken your foundation. For your terrace, I would recommend a short retaining wall. This will prevent hillside runoff from getting on your terrace.. Water from the front could be drained under ground to the rear of house.. Gutters help w/collecting water.. Good luck.

    House coming along nicely folks, good job👍 as we all know, Ph gets more than it’s fair share of typhoons, right? Have you ever thought of maybe re-enforcing 1 room, even the bathroom ( make it a bit larger) spend the money put rebar inside the block, fill the block with concrete. (A lot of contractors will try and save money by not filling the holes in the block all the way,) so if a bad storm hits, and blows shit away.......you won’t !!!!!🤣🤣😂😂 lol

    Hi there congrads on your new house I can see how exited you guys are. I completely understand your building on a tight budget but as a contractor the two things you should never skimp on in your budget is your framing and roof .you live in a hot humid and wet tropical climate looking at your build I'm worried your house will not stand up to the climate . You should also insulate the ceiling not just put up hardy board. Your house will heat up like a sardine can with a metal roof . Any way good luck

    Really looks like a house now! Things are moving quickly! You have said the shower was going to be in a different place than I see the pipes. They need more drains on the other side for the shower. You don't want the water going all the way across the cr to a drain location. Good luck! Thanks for sharing. Take care and God bless you all! David

  • @robertc.fisher3214
    @robertc.fisher3214 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice house you two! You should still put foam insulation above the gypsum board ceiling. The gypsum doesn't provide much insulation. Also are you going to plaster the ext hardeeflex panels?

  • @aicsusa
    @aicsusa 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    You need insulation between the gypsum board/drywall and the roof! You will want to do insulation on top of the drywall once you have it mounted to the ceiling. That will keep the heat out much better from the hot roof. gypsum board/drywall is zero insulation. The heat will come right through it. Also, insulate all those exterior walls now before you do any of the interiors. It is all worth it to do it now. Otherwise, that place will be very hot! Even if you have AC it will be hot and run your electric bill way up from the AC running all the time, much more than if you insulate the ceiling and exterior walls. Very bad idea to not insulate now. Good luck!

    Okey, MJ I suggested please do a pumping water "PUSO" there's lots of water in mountains and it's cooler that water, and that's another projects, I will give a contact number around Cebu, so it's depends how long the meters, it could be 150 meters of stell, and there's 300 meters too..then it's more saver's and lots we're save in neighbors. you could talk the price!
