- Today I found an old music that I have composed more than 10 years ago, when I was still composing on a computer 💻
I decided to bring it back to life on my dawless setup 😀
My setup 🎹:
Novation Circuit Tracks: arpeggio, drums, bass
Microfreak: main melody, ending melody
Volca bass: second melody / build up
Korg NTS-1 / potarbox: reverb, ping pong delay, transition
PO 33 K.O: voices

I love this idea of resurrecting old tracks thru midi into modern dawless ( or hybrid ) setups - I’ve recently acquired a nice virtual analog 4 channel NORD synth (4 channels= 4 separate synths) & plugging my circuit tracks into it has fully rejuvenated tracks I carved out 1 to 3 years ago (!) Not nearly as big a gap but my gear setup has changed completely - so I’m able to assign completely diff patches to the same arrangements, via more powerful sounding synths )
Yeah, It's another way of working.. I find that we spend more time on the composition than on the sound design, thanks to the limitations of each hardware .. which I think is actually a good thing 😀
I went back and listened to many of your older tracks on YT and Soundcloud. You clearly have a solid grasp of song structure and composition. Your melodic motifs and textural interplay are more advanced than is often heard. Did you receive any special training such as classical training or structured lessons?

I did'nt receive any "special" training.. I'm just passionate about music and I've been composing for over 10 years now 😉

Rooo comment tu geres les risers et les drops, je ne sais pas comment tu connectes le NTS1 pour ces effet de DJ mais y a du gavage.
Merci ! en fait le Microfreak et le Volca bass rentrent tous les 2 dans le NTS-1 (qui rajoute de la reverb du delay et du flanger). ensuite je gère les effets avec le contrôleur midi 😜 (le potarbox)

J'ai vu beaucoup de videos de ce genre, et même si ils alignent toutes les machines proprement, les compos sont souvent décevantes. La belle surprise du jour!
