Wonderful direction. This seems closer to the Esmerelda of the original book. You can feel her joy, and the excitement she feels performing. Whereas in the American production the song is about sex, in this version, she's simply dancing and others are projecting their own desires onto her.
Thank the paper mills version on focusing more on the novel's details than what we see in the disney version.

I'm pretty sure that the song is the same just in German. But the actress (idk her name)/production did change the character a bit
@@breania_inekora5069 I'm German and Ciara Rénee from the original version La Jolla Playhouse US version, is the reason I prefer the US version a LOT over this.. ( So is Frollo, Cloupeau. etc..) But Ciara Renèe was ROCKING it..

This is the best Esmerelda Ive ever seen. Anyone whose playing Esmerelda should watch this for reference even if they are doing it in English or another language. Acting on point, singing flawless, and dance is immaculate. You can tell she’s really into it and not shy at all.

Ich war mit meiner Klassenstufe im GvND und konnte Mercedesz nicht sehen, da sie im Urlaub war😭
Ich konnte aber Sina Pirouzi sehen und sie war auch sehr gut als Esmeralda. Ich finde, dass Sina es nicht so dramatisch wie Mercedesz rüberbringen kann, aber trotzdem eine sehr gute Zweitbesetzung ist.

Ari Mountain Well its the original Stuttgart cast. The production is touring through Germany right now and it was in Berlin, Munich and now its in Stuttgart. But the cast is always almost the same, the only difference is that Esmeralda was played by Sarah Bowden in Berlin and Munich and now in Stuttgart the role is played by Mercedez Csampai, the one in this video
Also this is the production from the updated U.S. production. There was a Berlin production of this musical back in 1999, with a very different staging and some plot differences.

Since when was there a written broadway version of Hunchback
Harbinger sev-oh-wohne there was a cast recording made back in 2015. However, the union declared the musical too big to bring to Broadway as they would need a huge amount of people for the choir and I think they simply didnt want to have to pay that many people. So now different theaters around the world are performing it, some being professional. I'm planning on seeing a professional production this month and I cant wait!

It’s included in one of the versions of the American play, IDK if Papermill or La Jolla or both. But in the original it’s
“Welcome to Paris, Esmeralda / As I have heard, you come with useful tools. / You’ll thrive in Paris, Esmeralda / ‘long as you learn to follow all our rules”

Впервые вижу девушку, которая была хотя бы частично хороша в хореографии, на роль Эсмеральды она точно нужна.
А здесь и не надо танцевать- здесь и нужна естесственность. Есмеральда же не баллерина по роли! По- моему, она блестяща и в хореографии, тк настоящая хореография здесь бы была не уместна!!!
