This exact same issue can be seen in Pakistan. Anyone who has done even a 2 year "alim" course or maybe a "mufti" degree is considered a scholar. Some don't even have any teacher nor do they have any certificate from any institute and yet they are considered scholars.
May Allah bless you, if you also add that the scholar is the one who studied at the hands of scholars and has books of works or explanations or investigations of scientific books that agree with the Qur’an and Sunnah with the understanding of the Salaf of Ummah. He also spreads this knowledge and teaches students of knowledge.

Yes indeed , Didew is very big Muslim brotherhood and Sufi scholar. Scholar of Bida'a like Jahm ibn Safwan and Ibn Arabi .
This is so common in the west. Any popular imam becomes a scholar, people genuinely believe he is one and trust him. And they are ready to follow those imams in everything they say. They come up with innovative fatawa, wrong teachings of the Deen and spread a LOT of confusions. Allahul Musta'an

Salaam 3aljkum. Just the other day I saw something in the comment section commenting about khabiatyou. He called him a Scolar poor meskin. May Allah tabaraka wa ta3ala guide them al. If he is a Scolar ghadi and 3ummar sulayman are 3allama s.b😅😅😅
Funny how sheikh Al albani was not mentioned but some scholars were mentioned who are alive now and no where on the level of Al Albani.
"And so on"... This is not about listing every عَلَّامَة. He mentions Al Albani رحمه الله رحمة واسعة all the time. This is not his only video, he has more than a thousand... . May Allah protect us from embarrassing ourselves, from giving our good deeds to others, may Allah grant us a clean heart.

Akh أخ (Lowest)
Ustadh أستاذ
Shaykh شيخ
Faqīh فقيه
Alāmah علامة
Imām إمام (Highest)

Also not all people considered "scholars" are upon correct aqeeda, some are sufi etc and I refuse to take knowledge from people of bent aqeeda. The people I consider scholars are people like sheikh al Fawzan, al Albani, Sheikh bin Baz that have correct aqeeda of Quran and Sunnah as understood by rightly guided first generations
The worst problem among majority of ummah in the west is the lack of care of aqeeda, they take knowledge from any deviant sect and it is muslims that have immigrated to the west and built the masjids that are usually the fault of this. They invite all kinds of misguided people without proper islamic education to talk in the masjids all they care about is if they have a following and "likes and subscribes" and the reverts don't know any better they get fooled into thinking these people are scholars because the masjids introduce them as such huffing and puffing their egos with big titles and lists of personal accomplishments when all glory, praise and accomplishment is due to Allah alone who provides us all.
I argued with a masjid "board group" near where I am to not let a khawarjite inclined deobundi deviant internet personality to talk to the youth at the masjid but they just argued that they had a big online following so must be fine even though i supplied them with proof from people of knowledge refuting these individuals for being deviant and openly spreading hurooj. They run the masjid like a business, not a place of worship. Since that time i pull my children from their expensive madrassa and refuse to go to that masjid again, I travel much further to find one with clean aqeeda and intention of worship.
You do not know how valuable english speaking channels like yours are there are very few options for beneficial knowledge in the west that is upon correct aqeeda/tawhid adhering to Quran and Sunnah without bidah and misguidances.
In sha Allah I can make hijrah soon I cannot stand staying where I am. I do not want to be buried here. Bury me among believers, the people that care about being upon what the prophet pbuh and sahaba were upon.
