      @NextLevelAutoDetail  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no perfect compound or polish for sticky paint. It’s the application.
      Heat is the enemy of sticky paint. So long throw machines or forced rotation is not ideal for sticky paint.
      The best method is to use a 8mm free spinning da. On a lower speed with a polishing pad. Don’t over work the area with faster arm movements.

      Ben Runkel i will make a video soon talking about it. But I prefer my 21mm long throws. I rarely use my 15s. If I have to use a 5 inch 9 times out of 10 I’m grabbing my Griot’s garage 6 inch with a 5 inch Bp or my flex 3401 with a 5 inch.
      The 21mm is the king of correction. Everyone just buys the 15 because it has a 5 inch plate. The 21 is on another level correction wise. Will make a video soon enough with a more in depth answer. I appreciate you watching

      The good smell part is something I forgot to state in the video. Being around chemicals that smell bad all day day after day year after year starts to take a toll on you. Bad smells trigger headaches for me. Using compounds that smell like heavy solvents for hours on end can give me migraines. It’s actually nice to smell something that smells pleasant when your used to smelling something bad. When I do use another polish that smells bad it makes me appreciate the boss creams even more.

    Joe, again, so informative, I subscribed yesterday!
    What are your go to foam pads for the finishing stage?
    Do you have two?- one for finishing soft and one for finishing hard paints?
    On another note, for single step polishing jobs using HD polish or Griot’s correcting cream, which pads are you liking the most?
    How long did this 2 step polishing job take? So many people I see take 2 days to do something like this, and do 3 steps, when really it can be 80-90% defect free in 2 steps and in so much less time...what are these people doing to themselves lol,
    Thanks again for taking the time to answer our questions, keep up the good work!

Been wanting to get into detailing so been watching all these videos . Should I do the lhr21 or lhr15? Then I was going to get the Griot's garage 8mm and put a 3 or 2" backing plate on it. And hopefully I'll get good at this and possibly do it for other people. Just wanted the Master s thought s on the 5" or 6" rupes.everyone says the lhr15. But then some people say get the lhr 21 and put a 5" plate. Thanks a lot man

    • @NextLevelAutoDetail
      @NextLevelAutoDetail  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Josh R that’s a hard choice. I like to recommend machines on the basis of what machine they currently have that will compliment them the most.
      Me I’m a 21mm fan and a 6.5 inch pad fan. Not that many out there but that is my preference.
      If I were you. I would get a 21 get the Griot’s garage 6 inch and get the 3 inch plate and 5 inch plate. So on that occasion where you do need a 5 inch you have that option.
      The 21mm is the king of correction why settle for the v6 model when you can have the v8 💪

    Fantastic job sir ,congratulations. Yes fcc is great product, unfortunatelly griots products not availibale in europe i live. I usually can find products like sonax cut max, perfect finish, menzerna fg400,menzerna 3-1 as i saw you used in the past are my go products.
    I have a recomendation for you sir, next time you facing a very oily compound or polish try NOT to use ipa based product to remove it, but a solvent based paint prep and in my experience you will have GREAT reaults on removing hight polishing oils. Just test it and you will remember me. Also solvent based preps are very helfull before sealing or coatings.

Glad you are back though. I have always been wanting to ask you what your thoughts are with Rupes vs Griots g15 or g21 they are pricey and have seen you always with Griots. • @NextLevelAutoDetail
      @NextLevelAutoDetail  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ali the Griot’s Garage 8mm is one of my favorite machines I like it better than the 15mm 😀 that might catch you by surprise.
      Being that you have a gg6 with a 5 inch plate no need to get a 15mm get the 21 that will compliment your gg6. Now you have a 6.5 inch machine and a 5 inch machine. The 8mm is a torque monster I call it my mini boss.
      I use the 21 for all my cutting and for edge or tighter work I use my gg6 or a flex 3401 with a 5 inch plate.
      If you want to remove defects fast the 21mm is going to do that better than the 15. It will be more complimentary to your gg6 than the 15 would

    • @NextLevelAutoDetail
      @NextLevelAutoDetail  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It can be oily if you use too much product. It offers lots o lubrication and is one of the better polishes for softer paint.
      To clean up micro marring in the second step a few drops is all you need and wipe off is easy peasy.
      If you saturate the pad and use excess product it can be oily but no where near to other oily polishes on the market.

    Thumbs Up! Great video and lessons my man! Did my first buffing today on a couple panels, hood and trunk on Lexus IS250. I think I did alright but I did something wrong with putting the cream on again after each section because I was flinging cream all over the place even when the pad was down flat and tight against the panel. Tomorrow I will start out with a new pad, the White one, and maybe try less cream. Any suggestions?

    • @NextLevelAutoDetail
      @NextLevelAutoDetail  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Spread the polish out on a lower speed and take advantage of the dome cap that’s on the Griot’s bottles. Massage the cream into the pores of the pad. Even if you apply too much just massage it into the panel on a low speed.
      Once you spread it out raise to your normal working speed and you won’t have any issues. The more you polish the better you will get.
      thank you for watching my videos Nothing makes me happier when I can encourage people to polish paint. 👍

      @@NextLevelAutoDetail When I spread it out at speed 2 and then go to speed 5 on the G9 everything seems to be just like you guys do it in the videos....but after I did the first two sections the cream started splattering all over the place and so I just shut the machine down and wiped everything down wherever there was splatter. This sudden splattering while buffing maybe happened because there was so much cream in and on the pad and I was pressing down and squeezing the pad a good bit against the panel.....I don't know....I was squirting cream starting at the middle of the pad and then in circles until I got to the edge of the pad and then rubbed or spread it around on the pad with my finger tip. Do you rub it into the pad on every section or was I only supposed to saturate the pad on the very first section? Sorry for the long message and the questions. This will be the last one!

    • @NextLevelAutoDetail
      @NextLevelAutoDetail  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      QUICK-STAR you can ask me as many questions as you need.
      There can be so many variables as to why you are getting splatter. I would have to see what exactly your doing.
      It sounds like you are using way too much compound.
      The boss polishes are “creams” so they are a thinner liquid. Reduce the amount of polishing your adding to the pad. After your first prime of the pad you don’t re-prime the pad all you need is 3-4 pea size drops.
      It honestly just sounds like you are using too much polish.

      Never derailed from the studio of Autogeek. Bob Mckee the former owner and founder of Autogeek sold Autogeek years ago. He still owns the building and only kept McKee’s 37.
      I personally ran my personal detailing business from the McKee’s 37 HQ. has nothing to do with Autogeek.
      I do not work for anybody but my self. I write for detailed image. That is what I do I write articles and share knowledge.
      Nobody scripts or manipulated me to write anything or make a video about anything that I didn’t believe my self.
      McKee’s never paid me to do TH-cam videos I did it because I wanted to.

      yes I am going to take offense to that. Especially since I haven’t posted a video regarding McKee’s 37 in Over a year. My last 4-5 videos have been in my personal shops.
      I kind of have a better understanding where you are coming from. I guess you thought I was employed by Autogeek.
      I am not employed by Autogeek and never was. I am not sponsored by Griot’s garage. My content is my content.
      I am a ask-a-pro blogger for detailed image and have been for years.

    Do u have a video on how to decide if it’s hard or soft paint

    • @NextLevelAutoDetail
      @NextLevelAutoDetail  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Greg Griffin I have a video coming out on this specific subject.
      “Hard or soft paint” that theory does not apply to newbies or inexperienced people in paint correction. That sets newer people up for failure.
      Even if the paint is soft if a person is new to machine polishing they are going to need all the cutting power they can get their hands on.
      Newer enthusiasts do not have the experience yet to make a mid-grade polish work on softer paint systems.
      Soft paint still needs to be cut if you are looking for the most defect removal possible.
      The only time a person should be concerned with soft paint is when you are having problems with the finishing stages of polishing.
