Lol, the only town in England I dislike - purely due to adverse circumstances when we were holidaying in England (from Canada) last year. I’d spent the day at Kelmscott whilst my husband and daughter enjoyed a blade-smithing workshop near Swindon. I got a ride from a friendly visitor at Kelmscott to Faringdon and asked my husband, who had the rental vehicle, to pick me up there. He input Farrington in error into the navigational app and drove 2 hours in the wrong direction to Dorset, not all that far, relatively speaking, from where we were staying in Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire. Error then realized, I had to wait for him to drive all the way back (I took a bus to Swindon and he picked me up there), whereupon we went back in virtually the same direction another couple of hours to our lodgings. It’s funny now 😂 but I still can’t countenance seeing this town again. I see The Bell is up for sale now. It was virtually closed then, although I managed to get a pint there. The interior had the appearance of potential charm but was in fact just delapidated. The town square benches with the Faringdon lord’s quirky saying painted on them, along with the horse and carriage for the bride and groom exiting the church were perhaps the highlights of my time there …but not nearly enough to offset the bitter taste the whole experience left me with. For reasons too complex to go into, I had one (foreign) credit card with me and it wouldn’t work in most places, so I was cold and hungry to boot!
I want to write you to let you know that I had so much fun watching this today. Thank you so so much! Until next time!
We used to live here about 24 yrs ago. Lots changed but so much the same. Thanks for sharing this. Brings back happy memories, we loved it here.
A vary good & intresting video of Faringdon Walk: Town Centre【4K】💛💛👍👍
Hey, thanks again for stopping by!
Beautiful town walk. The church is amazing.
Appreciated as always, thanks!
So sad to see so many pubs failing.

Oof, that must have been a long old wait! But I guess you got to know Faringdon, and possibly Swindon, pretty well then!
