After Forever was Floor's band! Simone and Floor had the same vocal coach and are good friends. The drummer here, Arien Van Weesenbeek, was, according to his parents, hitting things from 3yo - luckily he found his dad's drum-kit before he wrecked the furniture! Simone was restrained with the windmills and headbangs because she was pregnant! Love this! Another vote for "Stabat Mater Dolorosa" from the same show. Love the red ❤and the black🖤! 🤘

Floor was a busy girl 10 years ago. Beginning her time in Nightwish, guesting with Epica, crowned by the famous concert at Wacken. I'm glad that you've discovered this most operatic of symphonic rock songs.
At this same concert they also did Stabat Mater Dolorosa together with just the stringed instruments of the orchestra
They are loving working off of eachother in such a unique way and its amazing.
So funny. After Forever and Epica toured the smallest german venues together when Simone was 18 or 19 and you could relax in first row shaking their hands and afterwards have a chatter with all band members in front of the stage.
Still got a photo with them from that time.
I'm happy for them.They worked quite some time for that success and deserve it.

Floor was bandmates with Mark Jansen (no relation) in After Forever....Simone was several months pregnant at this time, so, there's a reason for her less active headbanging....classical and opera are basically heavy metal without electricity

It would be great if you could react to the performance by these ladies - in the same concert - of Pergolesi's Stabat mater dolorosa. Yeah, in the middle of a metal concert :-).
Floor and Simone also had the same vocal coach for a while, Amanda Sommerville. Good examples of her own singing are Farewell with Avantasia or any of the Kiske/Sommeville singles.
And Amanda Somerville stepped in when Simone couldn't tour due to health issues.

Perfect Windmill! ❤ You could join a metal band! 👍 I don't know if you reacted to Stabat mater dolorosa from the same concert. It's beautiful. They make a metal crowd go silent witch one of the oldest classical music. Just saying, Metal fans like me love good music. I personally like Bach, Mozart but also Metallica, The Sex Pistols and Dire Straits. And naturally Epica and Nightwish.
A lot of us metalheads are into classical. I grew up with my Grandma playing the piano and organ, as well as watching monster's ball with the other side of the family.

Just love those two together. It was Simones voice that got me into the whole symphonic genre. Bands like Within Temptation, Nightwish, Xandria with , Sirenia, Kamelot to name a few. All of these bands have excellent singers. Some like Sirenia have had a host of awesome female singers. Most if not all sound classically trained. It is a rabbit hole you should check out when time permits.

Hey Maggie, great reaction as always. You know,...I wonder what would happen if Simone and Floor would do a rendition of one of the most famous duets in all of opera, coming from Lakmé composed by Léo Delibes named; “Flower Duet”. My guess is, they would sound awesome together. The only problem I see is that it's scored for a soprano and mezzo-soprano. So basically my question to you is; Who would do the soprano part, and who takes on the mezzo--soprano. As to my knowledge, Floor and Simone both are lyrical soprano's. I would love to hear your take on this. Greetings from The Netherlands.

Simone and Floor are very good friends, but I think the part about being roommates is just a persistent rumor.
I have been an Epica fan since about 2007, when 'The Divine Conspiracy' was released, and their drummer has certainly been a favorite over all these years. I did get to see them live in my town in 2016. Great show, even in such a small venue.
It's a rumour indeed, they were never roommates, i don't know who brought up that nonsense long ago. It sometime looks to me that people want them have been roommates.🤣

@@embran8486 They did spent time together though , especially when Epica went on a European tour in 2010 and Floor's at that time new band Revamp was the support act for Epica during that tour.
They were roomates.

Definitely need to check out Kamelot "The Haunting" featuring Simone Simmons. I think you'll like Roy Khan's singing as well. (Kamelot has a different singer now, and he is good as well)

I think Simone is awesome but I must say after about a hundred listens, I think Floor is doing the "heavy lifting" or "anchoring" of the vocal parts. Meaning her physical body and facial dimensions allow her to have SO much body and thick warmth to her tone and tambour, while still Stinging like a Bee on command. Her tone is just SO clear bright and ringy, but at the same time thick, warm, and round when it needs to be.
I left a request on your Jealous cover. I know you probably wouldn't see it because it was 4 to 8 weeks ago! So I'm kindly requesting you to cover a Judas Priest song called Dreamer Deceiver/ Deceiver. Its a two part song that I think hi- lights Rob Halfords amazing range and vocal agility. Your voice would be amazing to hear on this one. I know you would think it would be a screaming mixed vocal but It has a few highs and great lows with an array of everything in between. You would make an old mans day if you give this song the talent needed to perform it. Thank you darling.

Pro tip for headbanging: let your hair do the work and move your neck as little as possible, same principle as with like a hula hoop. It'll prevent you from getting severe neck pain the next day lol
