I just taped the seatbelt at the bottom where it loops around the metal guide bar by the carpet. Push seat belt toward front off car and tape it in place. You can also use like foam tubing to hold it in place (all the way forward) I did it on both sides.
I would rather preffer quick ironing, sins it will stiffen the belt, but it also would have chance of damaging it, so you need to be pretty carful with this aproach.
Thanks for the excellent guide! Unfortunately, when I was trying to remove the end piece, the entire arm came loose. Am I out of luck on fixing it now?
I think I did pull the fuse in the video, just remove it and check if it's not blown. otherwise the motor probably dead or stuck, or the microswitch is not responding, you should have some sort of message when you read OBD.
That means the some of the inner element is damaged, you still can try to rack that aluminum "L" piece, but if that wouldn't work, just order the new one. Good luck!
Hi, thxs for the video! I also watched your video from 2017 "BMW Seat Belt Extender Hand drop fix..." and I want to ask you what method seems to you better? (easy to do, reliable, risk of messing it up, etc, etc) The one with the little screw or this one with glue? Thank you again.
Hey. Thanks for the comment! Easier and faster the one with a glue, but tbe extremely careful to not glue anything else. Also let it cure overnight, in that case it will less as long as the one with the screw.

Sorry to hear that! Used one will cost $50 but I would recommend to get it new.
I did the same pulled the whole thing out.
I will try to push the whole thing in again.
@@nicadair7700 I was actually very lucky. I was able to get the entire arm back in.
@@johnmorris8409 You just pushed the whole thing back in and it worked? I hope I have your luck 😀
@@nicadair7700 yep! I was shocked it went back in honestly. Good luck!
My driver side is just not coming out at all… could it be a fuse? I just got the car used it’s a 2009 328i. Thank you

Quite late to reply, but an earlier owner could have disabled the system from the driver side by coding the car
When I press the button mine doesn’t spring back open it stays in the locked position any idea why?

I’m also considering z4, as daily driver, idk… e93 or z4))) newer had the z4, so want to try One))
@@Makhnovets that would be cool, you were the only one making e93 content regularly.
will see, I might gonna get back E93 but i also have friend who owns one, so if you need any type of DIY's just hit me up!
@@Makhnovets funny you mention, I want to replace my idrive knob to the M3 aluminum one. And can’t figure out how to take the knob off
I pulled mine off an doubléd the size of the bit that catches it just enough so it fits back in the hole an now it catches everytime
