You do an excellent job of keeping your boots in top shape with a good selection of products. During my teen years I worked in my Dad's shoe store and developed a real appreciation for taking care of shoes and especially work boots. I have usually used saddle soap and mink oil on boots. Old worn out socks are ssved along with soft bristle tooth brushes . The tooth brushes are great for cleaning creases in leather, seams and the crease between boot and sole. Also the brushes are great for mink oil application. The old mink oil saturated sock is for wipe down and is also good for touch up between the thorough clean and reoilings. I reoil all the way to the top, the color is fairly consistent from top to bottom. The mink oil will darken light colored leather. Great video.

Nice to see an ibew guy in the comments my dads been in the union since before I was born and now it’s my turn to learn to take care of my work boots! In a different field (pest control) but regardless now I get to understand why he had all these crazy boot products in his closet! I used to play with his horse hair brush all the time and it’s cool to see why he had one and it’s because he took pride in his appearance at work.

Always try to clean my boots at least once a month. Makes the leather last longer and makes a pair last longer!
