Depends on the mission, if there are a lot of places I can get flanked from medium, if there aren't a lot of heavy threats, otherwise heavy. For missions like the first one in this video where there aren't a lot of angles I can get attacked from and can easily control the floor space, I use the front plate's only armor for the greater protection but lighter encumbrance.
Getting that witness across the street was a bitch. But I actually think I managed it a bit better than you did in this video. I went all-out assault, with all my guys having assault rifles. Went pretty much the same route as you though, it was just faster taking care of the guys at range. Also, the shotgunners seem to take longer clearing their weapon when going around a corner or breaching a door, meaning they seem more likely to take fire before they can ready their weapon to respond. That's what I have noticed from my playing anyway.
***** this is an old video I think it was a modded less than lethal shotgun but you should vbe able to use the regular tazer and then just switch it to your sidearm where it would be equipped
