Such a brilliant band. Indeed the ocean analogy. Never thought about in that way. Keep up the grand job my man, have a great X-mass and cheers (proost !) from the Low Countries !
Earlier this year I asked my beloveth Wolfpack if someone could pick me up at the airport in Milan to go to the Lovebites concert. A fantastic metalhead from Slovania, Danilo, responded very soon…. While chatting with him, he told me he would go far for seeing Epica with orchestra. I already had a ticket for the second, sold out, night. For me as a Dutchy 30m away to Amsterdam. I quickly bought 2 for the first night and invited him over to join me in the Netherlands. Long story short, we had a fantastic day in Milan and later on flew to the Netherlands to join me. The Lovebites concerts were amazing this year even in the small venues, but Epica with orchestra, choir, children choir, background singers and surprise singers was EPIC !!!!!! I don’t consider myself an Epican, but love symphonic metal and this is surely in my top 5 concerts of all time. Amazing stuff
The performance was very good. When simone started singing i was almost about to cry. but sadly their setlist was a bit weak. Also the crowd at the first day was really boring
Simone’s voice is like the ocean indeed. Check these bangers out to hear a more stormy ocean - Epica - Fools of Damnation Epica - Resign to Surrender Epica - Crimson Bow and Arrow Epica - The Great Tribulation
Coming in a bit late here, but I have just discovered your channel, which I think may be a new favourite - g'day from Australia! 🇦🇺 (subscribed) I'm so glad that you chose the symphonic live version of Arcana, which seems to have flown under the reaction scene radar. They've released another track from this concert, The Ghost in Me (Danse Macabre) which is truly awesome. It's actually a reworking of a piece of classical music by French composer Saint-Saëns. btw, I've just binge watched your Band-Maid reactions, which I'm really enjoying. I'm sure you've also been told about another Japanese female metal band, Lovebites. I'd love to know what you think of them! Start with Hammer of Wrath live, and beware, it's a deep rabbit hole!
It's nice when somebody gets it. Some days when I'm coming home from work I am so tired, so utterly burnt out, that nothing feels good except the sound of Simone's voice. A lot of credit has to go to the guys who write the music, obviously, but her voice has a magic that I've never encountered anywhere else.
Did you know that Simone initially turned down the Epica gig because she didn't like singing on stage? She was too SHY. This is when she was still in high school. She had to overcome that stagefright, and look how far she's come! Amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it.
As soon as the show ended and I got back to my hotel I immediately started searching for phone recordings of this song on TH-cam because it was stuck in my head lmao
They are touring in South America, they were recently in Mexico with orkestra! There were a lot of mobile recordings made by fans. Do Ghost in me (live)
I was there!!! Fantstic show!
Me too, and the guys in front of us had come from Uruguay. Says it all really
I bought tickets in January, but by the time September rolled around, I remembered I'm old and don't have the energy for a trip to Europe.
@@markfrancis6886I was there from Nebraska! Amazing country and phenomenal concert!
Yep, me too, it was amazing
Watched it online. It was incredible.
Bigger and bigger, this is Epica. 🔥 🎻 🎸
this band is something else

Yes to all the above.
Their live performances have a cinematic quality, especially when they introduce the orchestra and choir.

I get what you mean re Simone's voice, it's so smooth and delicate but you can sense the vast power underneath. So hyped for their 9th album!
I love the ending. Just a flurry of sound and brainstorming.
Love the song! The new album is going to be a scary one. This song to be the first, can they keep this up?
i trust them
I guess they can, they always do.
the definition of epic
Told ya! 🥴
This is such an amazing song. They debuted it at the first show of The Symphonic Synergy in Amsterdam and I instantly fell in love with it.
