It's a good point, but I think that for Luffy that feeling won't be a problem, at first he will hit him for revenge but Luffy will surely look for a different motivation, more similar to what he is, and in the end he will win.
I also think that Akainu in Marineford was already in his prime and the difference with the current one must be very little, he is not a character that gets younger, also it is clear that for Aakinu the use of his fruit prevails over his haki a the time to attack.
I do hope to see a good blow from Luffy to Aakinu.

Oda himself confirmed that Akaino is Yonko level maybe even more than that. "If Akaino was the main Protagonist of the show, he would have found the One Piece within a year" and "Akainu has the strongest offensive Devilfruit" - Oda. It is also kinda safe that Luffy will get a new form (maybe like a Hybrid Sun God Nika or Awakening)

Oda knew since 2000 how this anime will end so I dont think that he would make big changes that would impact the story that hes seen since the beginning of One Piece I think

I think Luffy Will Win Bc His Gear 5 Was almost pirate king level he defeated kaido like it was nothing when he was gear 5 and also in the marineford arc Akainu was almost dead bc of old whitebeard he was almost gonna die even thought it was just old whitebeard
i think everyone forgets how much of a handicap kaido got, had to lift a island got attacked by literally everyone and didnt even dodge the attacks then luffy got to rest like 4 times and then still got beat up and got basically a full stamina revamp and a full heal through gear 5 so no, hes nowhere near pirate king level

Lol Akainu gonna end in a similar way as Mahito from JJK, Luffy or Sabo goma low diff him, he will survive and go cry to Imu or the gorosei just to be eliminated on the spot.
