I’m also a metal head and rock lover. I love Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac. However, I have really grown to like Kendrick Lamar and think his part in this song is the best part of this song. I think why this song has gotten as popular as it is, is because of as you said the uncomfortable back ground tones and beat, along with a catchy hook in the chorus, and the element of making you feel you aren’t were you really are in a sense. Kind of weird to say it like that, but this song does really make me feel I’m out of my room lol. Anyway, it might just be my age talking, but this is one of Kendrick’s best feature and definitely Travis best songs.
Its because it gives that psychedleic uneasiness that Travis' sound us trying to get into, he is a big tame impala fan and tame impala does alot to his voice
honestly as a goosebumps fan, and a massive kendrick meat rider, i have all of his albums and i think dkmc, and tpab are like the best albums in the world to me. i understand lol, it is very boring and repetitive, people love it cuz it’s easy to listen to while like driving and to just vibe, it’s like mind numbing where its not so overly loud and complex but you fan just mumble the lryics and then when kendrick part hits, people like rapping that part cuz it’s so flowie. it’s just a simple and nice song really. if you really want the best of kendrick and uncomfortable soundscapes, listen to some of kendrick’s music; father time, united in grief, count me out, good kid, wesley’s theory, XXX. and duckworth, those are all worth while songs that have switch ups, and yes

it is such good song and when you hear the production with guitar and the drums. uffff
Do 90210 By Travis it’s arguably his best song
Recording a reaction to it later today :)
It goes hard in the club or at a party. When you’re drunk and just having fun. But it was so overplayed basically no one likes it anymore
I can imagine! I'm not much of a club person myself, so I've never actually heard it played 😅 I'm much more a divebar type 😅
