A real Deep Purple classic! One of my favorite Deep Purple songs that isn't heard at all these days was (is) "April" (long version; 12 minutes). It would be great if you revived the song on your channel.
Machine Head, to my mind, one of the top 5 albums of all time. Not a wasted groove on the entire LP. Have had a copy in one form or another since its release.
Fireball is their most underrated album IMO. For a great funny story listen to Anyone's Daughter. For some DP prog check out The Mule or Fools. My favorite deep cut from them is No One Came.
Probably my favorite song from the album, but considering I believe it to be one of the best albums ever, it's not easy to pick a favorite. Not sure if you've done "Made in Japan" yet, but they do most of "Machine Head" on that live album, and it's arguably even better live.
Jon Lord's jazz roots are very apparent as well as his propensity for breaking eardrums. At the time I heard this as a commentary on the generalized phenomenon known as the "amotivational syndrome". Everyone then was smoking weed continuously and didn't want to do anything else. Like work. It was just part of the "subculture" and we needed to snap out of it. In retrospect I was probably interpreting too closely. Now it just sounds like, well, a fun song
how many hippie parties did we dance wildly to this great song!!! HELL YES!!
Oh yeah - these guys changed the world!
You should check out "Hard Loving Man" from their In Rock album - pure fire!!!
A real Deep Purple classic!

You should react to this song off the album Made in Japan. Live in Copenhagen is a great version also.
Made in Japan version
